kitty kaaaattt advice catvice
Hello folks so i wanted to reach out because i know a lot of you have cats so where to go best for catvice.
Sooooo about a month ago at my job i found a 4 week old kitten behind the engine of one of the vehicles and i pulled her out and took her home where she was fed and loved and stuff.
I’m not asking so much for advice on care of the cat because we’ve got her food, toys, bed, care, and all that good stuff.
She’s coming around 8 weeks old now and her personality is really showing. We intend on keeping her since my mom fell in love with her immediately. My dogs get along with her great.
the advice i’m looking for is in training her. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life so training and owning a dog is a piece of cake for me. Cats are a whole different game, i understand that cats and dogs are not the same, not in body language, in interaction and in behaviors. So i just want to know how to train her in the following to be the best owners we can be.
-not to bite, or at least not bite so hard, i read that if you his or meow loudly like a mom cat would that this would help, but i’ve been doing that and she don’t care.
-not to insert her nails into us and try to climb us or just scratch at us for attention my mom’s legs are all scraped up and i feel bad for the poor woman
-not to steal our food, like she will literally jump up on you and bite you on the lip to try and take the food from your mouth, she doesn’t do this as often as she used to, may be growing out of it, but still.
Are these things trainable? can you make a cat not do these or is this just part of our existence and things we have to accept as part of the territory. We love her and won’t get rid of her no matter what but still it’d be nice to be able to eat with out getting attacked.
