“Girl on fire.”
Every sound that reaches his ears causes a sharp, stabbing pain to surge through his skull. Perhaps last night's drinking-until-he-passed-out wasn't one of his greater ideas, but he'll be damned if he admits that and proves his disapproving Escort and the snobs of the Capitol right. His stubborn streak allows him to simply soldier on through every hangover, but it doesn't make it any easier to handle too much sound. He's vaguely aware of another's presence; someone perhaps talking to him with words he can't quite register in the state he's in. Confused grey eyes squint up in the direction of the voice and he stares with mild irritation, wanting nothing more than the noise to stop. But through tired eyes he can't fully see the identity of his companion, so he can only grumble in his usual way in a desperate attempt to make the stranger shut up. He's more polite than he would usually be, of course -- there's a chance they might be someone bigger and stronger than he is, and he doesn't need a punch to the jaw right now.
"Why you gotta talk so loud, damn it?"
Isabelle couldn't quite decide if she was annoyed or intrigued. It was a mix of both, really, if she was being completely honest. She hadn't expected a phone call from Katniss.
Although she should've really, it was inevitable once you gave someone your number. And she hadn't exactly seemed stone cold confident in what she was doing. Still, the message was far too vague for her to discern what was going on.
Hopefully she hadn't eaten any train cars. After all, it wouldn't have been the first time anyone had poor self control.
Lifting her hand to knock on the door, she leaned back and raised an eyebrow. At least she hadn't had to travel far, she could still see Mitchell through the windows of his own house. Well then, there goes the neighborhood.
