With respect to people that love it, I just went through the list of stuff from XKit Rewritten because the last time I touched it was so buggy I uninstalled, and, overall, absolutely, you do you, but I am so confused by wanting some of these. A couple undo the fundamental use of the site.
Pause Gifs - not inherent on tumblr, easy on phone or browser
De-animate carousels - I have never seen these move, but okay
Disable layout element animation - isn’t this only in themes, but okay
Make links in posts blue - weird that you want this, but okay
Remove user-set colors from text in posts - fair enough
Remove user-set fonts from text in posts - fair enough
Use regular-width scrollbars - can’t figure out what ‘regular’ means but okay
Move alt text to captions below images - you do you
Show all alt text by default - you do you
Only show image descriptions - you do you
Hide advertisement containers - I think you should get premium so this is irrelevant to me
Search defaults to tagged pages - just click the tab for tags?
Open tagged pages in a new tab - Isn’t this just control clicking?
Hide media from mature posts - already on tumblr
Hide all media - don’t know why you want this but okay
Treat these blog as mature - use the inherent blacklist

Collapsed Queue - fair, this seems helpful if you run large queues

See posts - the ‘what did I miss’ tab exists already
Shorten Posts - adds more options, but this already exists, and ruined the color of the sky
