Humans hallucinate because of biological predictive models trying to secure or make sense of survival. One can only imagine how the human mind hallucinates about the cosmos, reality, and other abstract cause-effect relationships.
One would like to say regarding most "scientific" hallucinations - take it easy because they tend to regress the advance of intelligence rather than the other way around.
