I'm like spewing Homestuck theories at the moment. but anyways, You know how the Signless had a love that transcended the four quadrants, and how Karkat described his interactions with Terezi as wanting her in every quadrant, and how he never had a kismesis (okay, he kinda saw a John that way for a bit but I'm going to ignore it). Maybe Karkat is just better suited to a love that isn't bound by quadrants (I know that he also has a matesprite but I don't like Gamzee and I'm going to ignore his relationship for this theory as well, seeing as it doesn't disprove it). 

So I've always thought of the transcending quadrants thing as being basically like some human relationships. The really good, interesting ones. So Karkat would probably be best suited to love a human. Maybe this is considered more of a headcannon then a theory, but whatever
