What’s this? Two Iris refs in one day? First is a Selkie Iris for mermay and second is a redo of Iris after she grows up into a teen/adult! The cuteness aggression I have for her cannot be matched THST IS MY BABY GIRL LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER
Since it’s Iris’s birthday month, I wanted to show off more of her lore. So these are her bio parents! (I made this at the start of the month and forgot to post them oops)
As some may know, Iris is a faerie! I plan to make a diff post going into deeper depths on the story behind that but for now let’s focus on her parents. Iris was born to a Phooka named Drishti, who had fallen in love with a mobian about 40 years before. In my story fae have children differently, and they can/will have children many years after conceiving. This is because they are immortal and it’s to prevent overpopulation. By the time Iris was born her father Corwin had passed away a long time ago, and he was the only person Drishti had ever fallen in love with. Drishti couldn’t handle the thought of seeing his face in her child especially when she was desperately trying to forget him to forget the hurt. So, she decided to dump the baby on someone else, good old fae style. This person ended up being Sonic! Now unlike classic folklore Iris wasn’t a replacement for a real child, she took shadows Chao that Sonic was babysitting. After initial panic though the chao was returned (it was basically to ensure they treated Iris well, cus she would take revenge out on the Chao if her baby was hurt.) Sonic was going to send the baby to live with other fae, but when Iris opened her eyes for the first time they bonded and he ended up deciding to keep her. Drishti keeps her distance, but may or may not work up the courage to face her child later on 👀
