So here’s a question, if everyone here agrees that cops are bad at protecting people and often end up hurting more then helping then why are you against people using weapons to protect themselves. If cops aren’t gonna be there then you’re the only one that can protect yourself can’t you?

Except this is not the United States, the owner of those restricted firearms had background checks classes permits and had to wait years before getting those weapons, it’s a hobby like any other, it’s a sport like any other, competitive shooting is a thing. Not to mention in the military you only have access to a few weapons mainly the C7 and C9 while not being able to actually use them a whole lot. I do not see why we’re taking rifles away from law abiding citizens when most shooting in Canada

You don’t need Military grade guns which are designed for killing large numbers of people for your ‘hobby’.

There are plenty of rifles that will remain legal and you can fool around with.

It is a fact that a lot of these assault rifles actually get stolen or sold to the black market and which are then used in mass shootings and homicides. Its safer for us all the less of them are actually available.

Don’t take the guns away if anything make the permits more difficult to get, we are getting punished for the perceived idea that shootings have increased in recent years because of the mass shootings in the United States, this is Canada we barely have violent crimes but people who want to experience a hobby for which they have sunk thousands of dollars are now forced to give away all of their rifles because the gouvernement won’t even have the decency to do a gun buyback system

The government is doing a gun by back system:

Trudeau said there will be a two-year amnesty period to allow people who already own these firearms to comply with the ban. Trudeau promised to pass legislation in the coming months to provide "fair compensation" to people who own these firearms.

The Liberal Party promised some sort of buyback program in the last election, something that could cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

Please just find another expensive hobby that doesn’t revolve around deadly, weapons.
