would you like help adding pictures so you can focus on all the writing?
As I’m writing, I’m adding in little notes to myself to remember to add in illustrations.
For instance, I need a basic image of a Cruxtruder cut in half, so you can see the Cruxite hidden within. Each part of it’s going to be labelled in reference to what I’ve written in the text itself.
This goes for just about everything I’ve done - so that includes Captchalogue Cards (though I forgot to put specific numbers down on that) and Strife Decks (which would need to be split into parts, so you can see both the back and front of the card).
Now, I guess some of this stuff is simple? I can rip most of it from the Wikia, if I want to keep it in Homestuck style. But if I want to make it more like a proper manual, each of these things needs to be drawn.
I also need to have diagrams showing how the Stack modus works (as an example), and how something like the entire process of punching cards works (e.g. showing how the binary is laid out on the card, and then showing what that looks like with a code I’ve used as an example).
So pretty much it’s just stuff to help with the really wordy explanations. Plus, even if people know what Grist is, I think it’d be nice to add in different types of Grist as examples - plus some potential looks for Local Grist so people can get an idea for what they could do in their own sessions (since I am writing this also to help people plan out sessions, should they want to).
I’m still trying to figure out what I want this to look like in general, too. At the moment it’s just headings and sub headings and no styalization, so I might try to get some help with formatting a little later down the line to make it look more interesting/official.
It’s also just on Google Docs at the moment; when I publish it, I might very well move it to somewhere like AO3, and have each heading be a new paragraph. That might be a lot easier on the eyes, and still allows for formatting and pictures, I think.
