Cazuca Visit

This project was valuable for me because it taught me a new skill which was working with little kids and taking care of them. I think that in this visit we learnt as much, of not more, from the kids as the kids did from us. We learnt to be patient, understanding, caring, and to expand our imagination. I have been to Cazuca three times in my life and every time I come back home I feel like there is a weight in my shoulders that I cannot lift. The people of Cazuca live in terrible conditions of poverty, and it breaks my heart to see how impotent I am to help them. I find it amazing how amidst all that poverty and misery the children of Cazuca can smile radiantly and laugh without a care in the world. It amazes me that these children are so strong and that they can find happiness amidst the misery that surrounds them.
