Thoughts about Citizen Brown in the CTM AU
Cause consider, since he wouldn't be the one to invent or fix a time machine in the Citizen's Time Machine AU, he would have every reason to believe that cb!timeline Martin is psychologically disturbed for even ATTEMPTING to build a time machine in the first place. Citizen Brown would of course at first refuse to believe that he himself or Edna did anything that might've pushed Martin to take such drastic measures, especially with the Citizen Plus program Lorraine went through.
Cause on paper, every possible issue should've been solved, shouldn't it?
Now imagine his surprise when Citizen Brown finds out through a forcibly Citizen plused Tiffany Tannen, that Martin did not only get his hands on a DeLorean, but that he had also been up to some other suspicious activities. Ones that got only ignored so far because of technicalities, like him technically never committing them himself. Especially when it turns for example out that there were some hidden blue prints and calculations for a time machine at the McFly's house, that not even George would've known about. Meanwhile Citizen Plused Lorraine goes on all about how tired Martin always seemed to be the last six months and so on, seemingly unaware but maybe also Lorraine subconsciously protecting er son by being intentionally ignorant to his antics.
Either way, this all would very likely lead to Citizen Brown himself wanting to confront Martin and just... trying to talk the kid out of that madness like a reasonable leader adult in his position would do.
And unbeknownst to Citizen Brown, Edna had already sent some police men after the kid, to achieve the same thing by force and without any mercy, while also keeping her husband protected.
So... whatever trust Citizen Brown may have managed to built up between himself and Martin ends up getting completely obliterated by the arrival of the police forces. And of course leads to Jennifer just straight up grabbing Martin and accidentally time jumping them both to the future. Brown however doesn't know that for certain, so from his perspective 2 teenagers just ended up getting themselves killed by self disintegration in front of his eyes.
So... that night does end up haunting him for the rest of his life/existence and he basically ends up blaming himself for that, while simultaneously Citizen Brown also so desperately hopes that Martin's temporal experiment was actually a success (without knowing when that kid is supposed to reappear again).
Could he have done the experiment himself with just some other test subjects/volunteers to check for himself? Yes, but for all he knows: what if they too do actually also end up just disintegrating as a result?
And since Christopher Llyod is still around (today in 2025)/made it to 2016, why the hell shouldn't Citizen Brown too do so and end up getting some closure on that?
