Hi Tom! Love your and your wife's blogs, I try to keep up to date with them because of the wealth of information.
To the Q: I'm just starting my caged journey, and I'm having trouble with tip irritation from my underwear (CB-3000) and was wondering if you had fabric/brand suggestions, or any advice on dealing with it?
Thank you in advance, love the openness you two have with everyone.
Wow, the CB3000 is still around? That was my longest running cage; I probably went through three of them. I made a solid stainless steel cuff ring for mine, and elongated the hole at the tip to make it easier for peeing at a urinal. I still have one in the back of the closet somewhere, as a "just in case" backup.
However, you're finding that the tip is too open and is allowing your underwear to slip in and rub. Yes, that can be irritating, quite literally.
A kludge - an inelegant solution - might be to put a strip of tape over the opening to prevent the fabric from coming in.
For my normal work day, I wore jeans and BVDs (or that style), so the fabric was already stretched a bit and did not bunch up. I would dress right most days (ie, the cage on the right side of the seam) and the tifbty whiteys gave some support to the cage. If you are wearing boxers or boxer briefs, there may simply be too much fabric in your crotch.
If you are wearing dress pants or khakis, try a snug men's bikini brief that gives more support. Again, the idea is to stretch the fabric around the tip so it doesn't bunch up and move inside.
If you have tried these, it's possible that the CB3000 is too closely formed to your own equipment, and skin is poking out. Have you tried a CB6000? The sloping, narrower tip might keep your skin away from the opening.
