Why does no one seem to be talking about how amazing Anne with an E is? Why is nobody talking about the representation? The artful quality in which the writers adressed issues that weren’t in the books but would have 100% been part of that time and culture? Like, not only in there representation, but active and good representation. Think about other period pieces. When do you see a black character as not just a background servant unless the piece is specifically centred on black life. When do we see lgbt rep that isn’t struggling and tortured but about a happy and well lived life with the people they loved, in a community, small, but accepting within itself? Because you cannot tell me that that didn’t exist, that people didn’t band together like that, the exact same way we do now. Why is no one talking about this??
