The Creation of Adam: What is your favorite story from Mythology? Do you have any favorite Fables or Fairytales?

“I would have to say the story of Hades, Demeter, and Persephone. I like that even though Zeus ordered Hades to return Persephone, he still wins because he’d fed her enough pomegranate seeds that she had to spend half of her life in the underworld anyway..” He shrugged. “As to fables and what not, no not really.”

What's it like, having a metamorphmagus for a daughter?

"Its so awesome!” Ted grinned. “Honestly, I don’t even know what other girls are like, and I don’t ever want to...well unless we have another one. That’d be fine. But I’m pretty sure I’m ruined when it comes to all other little girls. Although sometimes she scares the crap outta’ me. I’ll be walking into the kitchen, and one second I’m talking to Dora, I turn around to get something, turn back, and I’m talking to a duck face. It fucks with the head a bit.”

I definitely don’t smoke weed anymore.

Do you enjoy your job?

“Well, I mean it’s a job right?”

Before the war, Ted had loved his job. When he’d first become an obliviator he’d spent his days cleaning up after enchantments gone awry, and random cursed objects, like washing machines that wouldn’t turn off, or miss-delivered plants containing mandrakes. Now? There was more horror to his job than he’d ever really wanted, but it helped pay the bills and allowed him to take care of Andy and Dora. He wasn’t about to complain about that.

What did the Sorting Hat say to you?

“You know, I was petrified. I’d never seen a talking hat, but I understood one thing--that hat was about to determine where I was going to live. A hat.” Ted grinned and shook his head. “I don’t really remember any of its mutterings. All I really know is it squeezed around my head, moving it around this and that, and in the next moment all of the kids in yellow were cheering.”

What is your favorite type of animal?

“If we’re talking domesticated, I prefer dogs, though I suppose I will always have a fondness for horses as well. When your father breeds them with the kind of intensity an alchemist devotes to the study of immortality, I think it’s impossible not to.”
