Hi guys ! I have good news ! I've been able to render something great ! I've tested it out and it was a quite a challenge to successfully render it correctly in TS4. There is a huge gap between blender shading render and the game but i've figured it out ! Now "all i have to do" is a bunch of texture editing so you'll have nice colors to choose from :)
If you are a content creator. Do all of the Lods. Don’t just delete lod 2/3.. Actually edit your mesh to be lower poly and actually make effort in doing lods. Not doing this is just lazy at this point.
Espcially if you are charging for your content!! You wouldn’t pay for something that is half finished so don’t make others pay for it! (also content should be released for free within 2/3 weeks!)
After giving it some thoughts these past few months i've decided to change up my TOU. This includes some big changes so if you're interested read below!
After thinking long and hard about this subject I've decided to edit my TOU so there's more room for you guys to get creative with my previous work.
I had to give it some time and thought about why I wasn't ready before. After exploring the subject I've discovered that it comes down to this. I've been apposed to it because of the amount of work I put into my stuff and the fear of people taking it (and possibly selling it) without even crediting me. That last part is vital to me. All I ask for in return is credit (see below). Especially if you plan on releasing it on Patreon, first. I say first because you cannot use my mesh as base/parts if you plan on keeping it exclusive. which is impossible these days due to some websites, thank god!*
Why is that so important to me? It has all about the amount of time I spend working on them. You cannot imagine but Vintage Chemisière for example costed me a week (14 hours) to make. Every mesh & texture is different, some are done within 4/5 hours / some take more than 12 hours. For this sole reason alone I'd like to be credited. Because i work deep into the night sometimes to make sure my CC gets done properly/on time.
From this day forward
Use the meshes/textures I made at your hearts content. Pick them apart, re-use them, mix them up with other meshes, etc. BUT please give me credit; include a link to your post including my original item. This is the only thing I hope to receive from you as a fellow creator.
Add the mesh to your recolor. BUT please include a link to your post including my original item. This is the only thing I hope to receive from you as a fellow creator. Aside from credit this also has a technical value; if for some reason your recolor gets outdated people can stil download the updated mesh at my post (if you decide not to update yours).
BUT(!)
*You cannot use my mesh/texture for parts/base if you plan on releasing the CC you create with it exclusively (on Patreon). It always has to be available for everyone within 3 weeks! I do not practice this method myself and don't want my content to be (ab)used for this!!!
There was a heated discussion a few months ago about including CC in uploads of sims / houses. I'm still very apposed to that for the same reasons mentioned before here but i think that you guys can meet me half way on this?
I hope by opening up my TOU people can keep respecting my only big no-no.
I'll update my TOU accordingly this weekend. Can't wait to see your creations! That is, if tumblr allows me to see... with their new stupid dashboard -__- So please @ or # me and hopefully tumblr lets me see it then =)
Hi everyone! Yesterday I decided to try creating my own cc for the very first time. Needless to say I’m finding it extremely hard to do so. I was able to create the shape of the mesh for the item I want to create but now the difficult parts begin... textures and UV mapping.
Also polycount since I still don’t completely understand that yet xD
Anyway here is a preview of what i have manage to do so far (pumpkin juice from Harry Potter). Hopefully I will be able to have this and other things ready for Simblreen this year.
Hi everyone! I hope you don’t mind that I keep posting updates about what I create.
Today I was able to fully create a decor book and make it work in game. I’m extremely excited about it and it makes me even more motivated to work harder on my Simblreen gifts 💛
Here’re two pictures of the book I created. Sorry for the bad quality of the first picture but I took it using my phone instead of just doing a screenshot.
Hi! Nice to meet you - and sorry for the random question, but I saw you made a recolor of the vacuum cleaner that came with cats&dogs - I just tried doing the same, but it doesn't appear in game.
Would you mind helping me a bit on how you did it? :(
Thank you so much, and sorry for disturbing you!
No worries! You're not disturbing me at all!!!
I wish I knew off the top of my head, but it's been so long I forget exactly what I did. I think there may be some weirdness going on with the categories it's under by default?! like it's in the misc appliances category in the build/buy, but I think you have to sort through by purpose instead of going by room, If that makes sense? But I do remember I had to clone the dock and vacuum separately, so maybe that's what's giving you trouble?
I can report back to you after I get in the game next to check (if this doesn't help) 😅
Edit: I just checked your blog, and noticed that in your post you said you figured it out
