Grandma Dee does a mean stomp. Dean Takemoto from California College of the Arts chose this page of my thesis for the "Dean's Spotlight" as part of the Class of 2021 showcase. I'm quite honored since there are so many amazing artists graduating this year, including folks from my own wonderful cohort. As some may know, I am working on getting my MFA from California College of the Arts. I was supposed to spend much of this summer in San Francisco and was looking forward to participating in a group gallery exhibition there. Y'all know what happened next!So my cohort and I adjusted and came up with this "virtual exhibition" - called Emanata - which you can now view: https://www.emanata.gallery/
It features some work we've done over the first year of our program, as well as sneak peaks at our thesis-in-progress.I feel very proud to be a part of this group of storytellers and artists, each with their own voice and style. This summer was really hard in many ways but seeing them every day on Zoom, receiving their feedback and heartfelt encouragement, and reading their amazing comics was a big bright spot for me.
We are an eclectic group and well worth the click to check out.

After 3 years I finally have an online shop on my website! 😅 A bunch of mini-comics, stickers and post cards are available but I'm most especially excited to have my new accordion-fold book up there: "Ordinary Plants of the Astral Plane: A Pocket Compendium." Made for @wuvable_oaf’s class at @ccacomics, this is an artifact of the world I am building for my graphic novel thesis, "The Dreamkeeper's Dream," written in the voice of my favorite character, Dale Flores. The design on each wood cover is burned by hand, and a mini-zine is included with each order. This is a super limited edition (only 12 copies!) due to the amount of work I have to put into each one.
