As soon as he heard screaming, he instantly knew something was wrong. Jae watched as a people ran by him, and he glanced in the direction they were coming from. He tried to make his was towards whatever was causing panic, but the tide of people held him back from quickly reaching that destination. Was it a monster? Surely, those rainbow colored heroes could take care of them. But at the same time, maybe the couldn’t.
Just as he thought about channeling his magic to call his weapon to his side, he saw someone being shoved around more so than the rest of the humans. They were like cattle, and he would be laughing if someone wasn’t being half-trampled. He forced his way through the crowd and pulled her close when she was within arms reach. He tried his best to drag her out of the way. It didn’t take much thought before he realized that this person wasn’t magical at all. Why was this a problem? He still hadn’t learned how to talk ‘normally’. It was just a mental block for him. Ingrained in mind was the vocabulary and speech of a century long gone.
Jae glanced down at the woman in his arms with slight curiosity, but slowly removed his grip from her. He stepped back, and softly spoke, “No… problem?” he cursed himself on the inside. This was going to be a struggle. He had to pause to think of what he was going to say next. “Are you, er… okay? Do you know… what happened? Why is everyone running?”
