Hello! I am looking for a shared apartment/house to move into! I will be moving to Halifax in the beginning of August with my boyfriend. We're from the west coast, and we have no relatives in Halifax, so we're hoping to find a place before we arrive. Please message me if you have a room to rent out to us. It would be a huge help!
Hello Haligonians!
This is a wall of text, so in summary: I'm asking about places to live, the transit system, and good running places. Continue reading if you can answer any of these for me!
I am from the west coast, and I am going to be making my journey east in about 2 months (July...Anytime between the 23rd to the 25th) and I have some questions that I hope someone could answer for me! I'm travelling east to go to school, and I will be moving over with my boyfriend. We're both students, and we both going to be full time students. But the thing is: We're flying over there, and we know NO ONE. It's going to be a fresh-start sorta thing. Knowing no one, having no vehicle, and having no place. So, my questions to you are: Do you know any good place that has good prices for full time students? I guess I should clarify now that both him and I aren't going to the same school. I'm going to be starting NSCAD in September and he will be starting CCMH in August. We were thinking of a one room apartment type deal, and we saw a place that was in the $700's. Even though we were shocked at how expensive that was, the building it self had a gym and coinless laundry. So we were both pretty cool about that! (In the small city we live in, people tell me it's cheap compared to where they live. I rented a basement suite that had utilities included, 2 rooms, in the middle of town, and it was about $675. It's a reasonable price to me, but I don't know if it's considered cheap in Halifax?)
As locals, you might know some better places. Whether it be cheaper, or whether you have the knowledge that utilities may be included within the price of an apartment. So I would be really stoked if I could talk to anyone about this! I also would like to know about your transit system(s?)? Do you only have busses? and if so, what would I be looking at when it comes to buying a month-use bus fair ticket? (Uhh, wow I'm good at explaining. Like, where I live we can buy a card that is good for a whole month, and you can ride the bus as many times as you want...Do you have the same thing? Probably o wo;; ) And I was also curious to whether you have a subway? How expensive is that? Are both types of transit really flexible? (Again, where I live. The buses arrive places as irregular times. Whether they be 10 minutes late, or 10 minutes early. Plus our buses come every hour. Unlike in Vancouver where they have buses every half hour or something?) And finally... Do you have any good running trails out there? Halifax is HUGE compared to where I live, and I was wondering if you have any safe places to run? I'm nervous about running in the big city...Since all of the worst possible scenarios pop into my mind. BUT I'M PROBABLY JUST BEING PARANOID! :')
ALSO IF THERE ARE ANY FIVES OUT THERE, I WOULD LOVE TO HOOK UP WITH YOU AND BE APOCOLYPSE RUNNING BUDDIES!
I will be super thrilled and appreciative if any of you read this. I would like to know more about the place I'm moving to!
Shoot me a fanmail (since there is no character limit from the get-go) or send me an ask. I'll give you my skype account or my e-mail so we can talk about this stuff ...Or, well, you can always just reblog and answer me that way!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING TIME TO READ THIS! ; O;
