ive been having fun(?) writing ccmn! (Fic name btw) scott’s interaction/ relationships (every time v!scott does something diabolical i make it a little bit more uh. Unhealthy/fucked up for ccmn!scott),,, this included cleo pearl shelby martyn (obvs haha) uhhh gem and jimmy at one point (rambling,,)
anyways i wanted to talk about them <3 my children im leading to slaughter <3

ccmn!scott is definitely more limlife/lifeseries! Scott, with my own touches to make him seem more “child like” (seeing as the limit is 18 and he’s like. 16?) instead of yk. A twenty smth man. So much more innocent and naive, but also just. Done with this, done with the games, done with his rebel family, done with the capitol. (He kinda accepted hes gonna die like. First day in,,,) (as i write him i get v!apo flashbacks (ironic i know 😭😭) cause, forced into this thing they didn’t really want but had to because they wanted to protect their friends, keep being told that this immenent death and threat is good for them etc etc)
Aand one of my personal favorites to write has been him and Pearl (i apologize for the horrid horrid characterization im sorry ok-) cause they. they are reluctant allies (hehehe wild/double life parallels) and trust each other to help in situations, but they make each other SO much worse compared to like scott and cleo or scott with martyn or pearl with cleo or you get it right? (Worse as in violent/ monstrous) Pearl feels free(?) to be more “scary” with Scott, more violent and action-y, while Scott’s thoughts ease into a more stragetic, “how do we win.” Typical career mindset. They hate each other (jokingly) but they have a side they can only show to each other. My galaxy duo <3

Ok so both of them are Careers (scott makes that joke EVERY single life series i simply had to) and Scott was the one to reach out a hand to Martyn for them to be allies (meangills <3)

So. I have this thing called “The Boogeyman”. As a lil treat. Its a gigantic humanoid shadow figure that vaguely resembles a werewolf, and its extremely uh. Important. It doesn’t HARM the tribute, but it’s claws have a device where it can plant something, and once a tribute is touched by the Boogeyman, they start hearing prerecorded messages (different kinds for each tribute, message depends on their interview) and a timer until the day ends. The tribute must kill another tribute or be killed themselves.
Why did this happen? Because scott majora. He somehow teamed/allied with half/more than half the tributes, so they needed a way to get rid of the connections, also no one was dying lmao. Scott’s family were all rebels in one way or another, from his great grandfather being one of the rebel leaders to his grandfather being the winner of the second game, who won without betraying anyone, to his father who was killed by the peacekeepers for singing a banned song (although his mother strictly stopped him from doing such activities after his father died) in some ways he resents his family, who made him a black sheep in school, laughed at and belittled. He knows the system’s bad, known it from the start, but the games changes people. He slowly accepts he is gonna die, wanting to choose how he dies instead. Send a QUIET message. Martyn is also from a rebel family, although it stopped at his great grandfather ( a listener more than a player iykyk,,) he had been taught to be against that, and never saw the cracks in the system until scott began to point them out. When it is pointed out, he is determined to change something- they had the power! Surely they could..
he’s outspoken, immediately flip off the president kind of pal, and quickly becomes target no.1, resulting into an incredibly low score in that thingy uh. Killing score? The thing katniss got an eleven in
However, in the last day, he is attacked by The Boogeyman, limited life ends the way it should. (Scott found a hole in the barrier and tries to get them all to run away and be free- and dies pretty quickly. Gee thanks martyn)
When the Boogeyman’s curse goes away, when he is crowned victor with the blood of his (????? Lover? Ally? Who knows?) on his hands,he goes a little crazy with survivor’s guilt and blames himself (even though the capitol quite literally brainwashed him lmao) :) (my au cherri parallel)”

also brownie points for toxic galaxy duo i love them so much and i think its so much fun to explore how they make each other worse.
the boogeyman... stop. the fact that it was specifically created for scott because he's so freaking loyal. the guilt shared between scott and martyn because it's scott's fault that the curse was there and that he indirectly hurt so many people, and martyn because scott. he lost scott.
