Short summary of your character:
Iris has lived in Cyreus Cove for a year now. She is searching for information about her mother who has no memories of. She is also hoping to discover the reason she has magical abilities. She has noticed some strange happenings around town, but not enough to confirm the existence of the supernatural world yet.
Iris is a witch who has lived around humans her whole life, which made her quite isolated. Since living in Cyreus Cove she is trying to branch out and make more social connections and maybe even learn the reason she has magic.
Character background:
Iris was an only child; she was raised in an upper middle class household and her dad and step-mum gave her everything that she could ever need. Of course to maintain the life style they were all accustomed to; they had to work extremely hard. That meant leaving Iris home with a nanny the majority of the time, which of course had slight implications on her relationship with her parents. Having a nanny was generally something that most kids detested but needless to say, Iris was different.
Her nanny usually spent most of the day sleeping or on her phone, this behaviour was unknown to Iris’ parents, but the young girl greatly appreciated it since it meant she had more time to play with a secret power. She had discovered her magic when she was just five years old and had mastered it by the age of fifteen – so naturally Iris never said anything about her nanny’s incompetence.
Iris was a quiet and shy girl, always keeping to herself, which was expected since she was almost always alone. In fact when she wasn’t, she found herself hoping she was.
On her sixteenth birthday instead of the car she had wanted she received a one way ticket to Lake Grimstone at first the girl didn’t want to go but after a few talks with the Government she realized that maybe it was for the best or more to the point: she had no choice. Since arriving at Lake Grimstone, Iris has tried to break out of her shell a little more. She is still that shy girl from back home but she does try to at least talk to people and once those people have gotten passed her quiet exterior they are greeted by a fun loving girl with a matching sense of humour. She’s really going through a pretty good transformation and she thanks the government for that, had they not brought her to a place where she didn’t have to hide her power then who knows how she would have ended up.
