Look who I met at Comic-Con Portugal yesterday!!!
Clark Gregg was really sweet.
He tried to communicate in Portuguese. He didn’t charge anything for autographs (unlike most guests, he and Kirsten Vangsness were the first I’ve seen to do this, even our own Daniela Ruah charged). He wasn’t supposed to give more than one autograph or to autograph anything other than his photos but he signed books, comics, pops, mini Lola’s, gave double autographs to people, gave hugs, etc.
I went with my friend Bucky (the non-binary Winter Soldier in the picture), I arrived first and we waited 2 hours (even through Dominic Purcell’s paid signing) and then another half hour due to the VIP line having priority, I started feeling seriously sick about an hour and a half in and I though I was going to faint or vomit right there (being compressed between hundreds of people in a very restricting suit didn’t help) but after a bit I recovered enough to get my excitement back. We gave Clark a cute little agent Coulson pin, called him our favorite Avenger (because he really is in a way) and he was super cheerful and playful. Bucky had him to sign their Red Book and Clark signed both the book and his photo, he gave me an extra autograph for my sister too.
I also said “Since I’m Hela today- sorry my dad/bro tried to kill you!”, to which he said “Oh yeah, you really are, you look awesome!” and then he laughed at the apology and hugged me again. As for Bucky, they apologized for asking to have the Red Book signed (it’s their autograph book) and then we made a “Mission Report: December 16th… Was yesterday” joke.
In a way I’m glad I got rejected for the cosplay contest because otherwise I would have missed that moment, which was totally worth everything I put myself through.
