Drabble prompt: warmth
warmth — write our characters getting warm.
if there was anything ricky was thankful for, it’d be the invention of heat packs. though the boy didn’t seem to really mind the cold, today just seemed to be a freezing day and frankly, the boy couldn’t handle it even with this thick coat on.
thankfully, he was prepared. with the heat packs in his coat and in his pockets, he felt warmer than a warm cup of hot chocolate. there were still some parts of his body that felt cold (ex. his face), but he still felt warm enough to be able to walk home in one piece and not feel like he’s been in a freezer all day.
however, after passing by a pc room, he pauses and looks at takuya ahead of him, seemingly going on his way home. unlike him, who was much warmer thanks to his odd choices, the other boy looked extremely cold even if he was wearing the same type of clothing ricky was wearing in this weather. looking at him made ricky feel pity and even a bit selfish for hogging so much of these heat packs to himself that he even has a debate on his mind on what to do about it.
he comes to a decision though in just a few seconds and his feet move himself until he was next to the other. “hey hyung,” he says. were they on that level of friendship yet?
the other looks at him in confusion, but ricky doesn’t seem to notice it as he focuses on getting the hotpocks from his pocket and handing them to the other. “this is like... two of them. it’s not enough and it won’t get you toasty like me, but it’ll help. okay? stay safe. don’t die.”
he walks off in silence, refusing to notice the other’s reaction and any other additional comments to his deed.
that’s a good ricky point for the week.
