“You would think that with the way this world keeps changing, things like this won’t surprise you anymore,” Ji Hyo said, an MR headset strapped to her head. “This game is so....relaxing? Calming? Can you see what I’m seeing?” Ji Hyo asked, turning her head to where she thought Yoohyeon was still standing. It was hard to know for sure, since her view was blocked with the virtual reality she had immersed herself in.

They had only meant to go shopping, but a display had been set up and draw Ji Hyo’s attention and she was eager to try the technology. “Have you ever done anything like this before? It’s so....sparkly,” she said, partially distracted still by the game she was playing. Before she knew it though, the timer was up and her turn was over and with a sigh, she removed the headgear and blinked a few times, adjusting to her surroundings before her gaze fell on her friend again.

“You should give it a try! It’s totally different when you actually get into it than it is just watching on the screen.”

solace.

drabble meme: one (accepting!)solace: write my character comforting yours or vice versa.

there’s a certain sadness that overwhelms him when the moon is full and the sky visible. a clear night that broadcasts a soft light across the city, contrasting against the harshness of the sun in broad daylight. jonghyun sits on the roof of whatever building he’s in for the night and soaks in the bright moon’s quiet rays, listening to the sound of cars zooming by at midnight. everything slows down.

at least in jonghyun’s not-so quiet life.

there’s shuffling behind him and it takes a moment before he allows himself to look up from the view, legs dangling off the side of the building. he smiles softly, genuine but small.

“hello.” he pauses. “here to enjoy the view too?”

he pats the space beside him in encouragement. he recognizes the fellow hero (he makes it his duty to do so) from around headquarters down below and although he’d prefer to be left alone, he’s not the type to turn someone away. 

besides it’s not like he really has a choice in the matter. 

but perhaps it’s for the best, because although he may not admit how small he feels in the world, knees curled up against his chest minutes before as he relives a life that exists only in memories now, company offers a sort of comfort for at least for a few moments. 

“it’s pretty out, isn’t it?”
