This is why I have to keep documentation. Last night we had a new little emerge and I stayed up into the wee hours to help them acclimate. This morning we introduced them to the rest of the system and even show them all the cool behind-the-scenes stuff at work. And yet, 24 hours later, everyone's quiet again and it all feels as real as the last whisps of a dream.
No wonder we went 30+ years without realizing what was amiss.
Y'all, our little (Collie) had the best day yesterday. First she got to front through most of our zoo trip.
and
Got to watch the Artemis rocket launch when we got home.
and
Discovered a short line railroad she shares a name with.
and
Made us an awesome pot of chili for dinner.
Honestly I really needed the reminder that there is still so much joy to be found even when it feels like the world is going to hell.

I learned that today is both national coyote day *and* national puppy day. Happy March 23rd to our system in particular I guess.
The girly-girl and the gemlin enby dog are beefing over our appearance again somepuppy get me out of here.
One of the interesting side effects of making a system blog is seeing the frequency of posts we've rebloged yet *I* have zero recollection of, even stuff from the last 24 hours. Like, I've known for years my memory is swiss cheese, but being regularly confronted by these blind spots has been interesting to say the least.

It's been a struggle getting back into my art after a few years, especially since it feels like I don't have full access to our drawing skills anymore. Unfortunately was able to confirm that this week when the others got their chance to try as well. For Yote is all flows much smother and they have a stronger artistic vision than I can manage. Funny enough, we're both jealous that Collie still has that ability to just doodle 'for fun', whereas we've become more task based with it.
Upside is I know the ability is still in here somewhere maybe with more practice and cooperation I can get back to where I used to be.
