An idea ive had is like… since cairyx and luce were able to make cael devils by putting cairyx’s species and other devils into the lava, then what if luce went “well if the antichrist isnt going to do his job, then might as well try again” and shoved joshua into the lava to make like a ‘better’ joshua. Would that be messed up or what

Wait...if the Cael don't reproduce, that means that the female Cael don't have menstrual cycle? Like, even before all go to sh*t? Because that at least like 1000 young girls in a specific area don't present a period is like alarming

And Luceryx (sound like a Targaryen name), the old man yaoi, the old divorce-married couple, are not literally the "parents" of the Cael? Like, in the way they made them (a process that still confused me today)

And Cael reproducing between them? That sound like incest to me. I see them more like siblings that don't interact much between them. But wait, they know about their origins, because i can see that Joshua know that he is like the antichrist, but what about the others?

And the government knows that were fighting with Lucifer himself(?), or the Cael remain silent about this?

unfortunately cael ladies still get periods 💔 though they're generally not as rough pain-wise what humans deal with.

the way i imagine their lack of any reproduction working (disclaimer: not an expert in biology lol) is that their bodies are just mimicking the functionality of human bodies without any of the actual chemical activity going on. they've still got all the bits, and the bits operate normally, but chemically its all inert. this same lack of internal chemical reaction is also what tends to give them mood disorders.

and no, i wouldn't consider luceryx the parents of the cael any more that one would consider like. an inventor the parent of their invention. both of them view the cael more like Things than sentient individuals to be cared for.

the cael all discovered their origins when they reverted! if they didn't intentionally repress their early memories like joshua did, then either the sheer pain and trauma of becoming cael devils caused them to block out that time, or the memories got fuzzy and felt more like an intense nightmare as they got older.

the cael remained silent about the true nature of their creator and devils in general. they all know how much chaos The Devil from The Bible turning out to be real would cause, so they just. keep that information to themselves

I'm one of those anons that come along, get a name and start throwing interesting fan stories at you, and for that reason, I'd like to ask: if a "contract" with a Goetic could be made, what would they be willing to give and how much would they demand in return?

there aren't really "contracts" in cdta, but there are pacts like what isaac unintentionally did to get joshua out of the Nightmare Sand Pit!

when it comes to demands, all devils recognize blood (bc its basically a person's life force), and the amount scales with how powerful the devil is. a weak idiot baby like joshua only needed a few drops to make something happen, but for a Goetic. you'd probably have to kill a few people at minimum

i'm not sure a pact like that would fully work with a Goetic though. Goetics (ESPECIALLY Luce) are very temperamental and would probably just kill the person attempting a pact if they were asked to do something they didn't already want to do (causing death suffering chaos etc)

though if someone did manage a pact with a Goetic, and asked it to do something it found agreeable, they'd have to do more killing every time they wanted to invoke the Goetic's power (just like how isaac has to cut himself every time he needs joshua to do something involving his devil powers)

luce: honestly the rest of legion isn't super into how bad and easily triggered luce's temper can be. both in the sense that his rage will often get turned towards his devil, and in the sense that it clouds his judgement and can make him a pretty shit leader lol

leviathan: legion thinks its pretty humiliating that they only managed to get out of hell bc Some Random Human fucked around with a magic board and found out. in general The Boys think leviathan's little subplot with elijah prior to joshua showing up in canada to be a wild goosechase

What does your OC lie about?

luce: often its how confident he actually is in his apocalypse schemes. there's been a lot of "NO GUYS THIS IS GOING TO BE THE ONE THIS TIME FR I CAN FEEL IT" going on for centuries lmao. only his attempts at speeding up WWII and his plan for joshua in 2009 were plots he truly, 100% believed would work

leviathan: kind of a boring answer, but its all that's coming to mind rn 😅 anyway, leviathan spent a lot of their time in elijah's house pretending to be elijah's own inner thoughts, trying to steer him to doing more extreme acts for both their own amusement and a blind search for leverage to get the other Boys out of hell, especially luce

luce: well the obvious answer would be his creator lol that is like Thee One Thing i've absorbed about his character through cultural osmosis. but slightly less obvious is that he's fairly envious of cairyx's shapeshifting abilities, particularly cairyx's ability to craft a unique human form. not much more i can say abt this bc it gets detailed a little more in the next CTS chapter 👀

leviathan: another obvious answer, but they're super envious of luce getting to call the shots all the time and how luce is constantly the closest to bringing about the apocalypse all The Boys have wanted for so long. that's part of why they stuck out the elijah subplot for so long; they were just that desperate to not waste their shot at making something major happen while on earth

What physical trait(s) is your OC insecure about?

it's the same for both of them: their monstrous appearances after falling from heaven (i think thats how it works for leviathan? again relying on pure cultural osmosis here)

like imagine you used to be this buff androgynous humanoid with pretty long hair and luminous eyes and after taking a massive L now you look like The Creature lmao
