Wait...if the Cael don't reproduce, that means that the female Cael don't have menstrual cycle? Like, even before all go to sh*t? Because that at least like 1000 young girls in a specific area don't present a period is like alarming

And Luceryx (sound like a Targaryen name), the old man yaoi, the old divorce-married couple, are not literally the "parents" of the Cael? Like, in the way they made them (a process that still confused me today)

And Cael reproducing between them? That sound like incest to me. I see them more like siblings that don't interact much between them. But wait, they know about their origins, because i can see that Joshua know that he is like the antichrist, but what about the others?

And the government knows that were fighting with Lucifer himself(?), or the Cael remain silent about this?

unfortunately cael ladies still get periods 💔 though they're generally not as rough pain-wise what humans deal with.

the way i imagine their lack of any reproduction working (disclaimer: not an expert in biology lol) is that their bodies are just mimicking the functionality of human bodies without any of the actual chemical activity going on. they've still got all the bits, and the bits operate normally, but chemically its all inert. this same lack of internal chemical reaction is also what tends to give them mood disorders.

and no, i wouldn't consider luceryx the parents of the cael any more that one would consider like. an inventor the parent of their invention. both of them view the cael more like Things than sentient individuals to be cared for.

the cael all discovered their origins when they reverted! if they didn't intentionally repress their early memories like joshua did, then either the sheer pain and trauma of becoming cael devils caused them to block out that time, or the memories got fuzzy and felt more like an intense nightmare as they got older.

the cael remained silent about the true nature of their creator and devils in general. they all know how much chaos The Devil from The Bible turning out to be real would cause, so they just. keep that information to themselves

Hey, me again, i wanna ask about the Cael's anatomy because im making Oc, and i got an idea.

My question is, can the Cael get pregnat ("female") or get someone pregnant ("male"), like, reproduce with humans, because one of my Oc is a girl that get pregnat like a year before the "canon" and give birth to twins

cael devils (and all devils for that matter) can't reproduce at all, neither with humans nor other cael devils, regardless of their primary sex characteristics

(For next week) I think you already said somewhere that Joshua just isn't cut for the job market, but I always assumed that since the Cael aren't legally fully human or fully animals, that the places that wouldn't mind hiring them would be those that have "backdoor jobs" like washing dishes, professional book proofreaders, game testers, food testers/sensory panelists or professional bed testers

Yes, I know almost all of these are technically "odd jobs" but I don't think many small business, let alone the big money fronts, would want to lose clients because they hired a Cael

i could see that, altho i suspect the kind of informal employment they might land would be far less comfy than those examples

in fact one thought that maybe possibly could inform some plot elements in a possible part 6 is that like. this is a world with a group of human-like beings that have mostly the same anatomy as regular humans, some unique anatomy with possible metaphysical properties, basically no legal protections (yet), and they can regenerate infinitely no matter how badly they're hurt

all manner of black markets and traffickers would have a field day with them

i think it varied a bit when they suppressed/forgot those memories, but pretty much yeah. i mean i don't exactly remember much from when i was 4 yrs old and under either lol even if that time wasn't intentionally forgotten it would've faded the normal way childhood memories do

and i think hearing joshua be tortured through the mental link for like a month was a pretty compelling argument to not trust luce's plans, but i don't want to 100% close the door on the prospect of an evil/morally dubious cael either so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had imagined that the Cael pre-burnt alive would be child sized, since they ended up replacing actual children, but I guess them being larger makes sense when their goat is a colossus

to be fair, the shapeshifting abilities they inherit from cairyx's species don't exactly obey the laws of physics. cairyx regularly loses a foot of height whenever he takes human form - 6 ft devils shrinking to the size of children isn't that much of a stretch (just the opposite :p) (sorry lol)

toby: obviously many ppl would find the fact that's he's a devil at all unsavory. before reverting, his devil instincts would usually manifest a very pitiful pattern of self sabotage. constant self-depreciating remarks, being wishy-washy when making plans with friends, ghosting people to avoid confrontation etc. which also tends to sour his relationships

sam: he's extremely stubborn when he's convinced he's right, and his default response when anyone comes to him with a problem is to try and use debate to find a solution. it's a good thing he's friends with someone equally as logic-driven as himself lol

cairyx: the other spider's weren't too thrilled about the whole Spicy Spider Soup incident, and they're also not thrilled by how easily he can get lost to side quests: first his partnership with luce, then his interest in the internet along with celyx

michael: the fact that he got jumped by luce's devils is so embarrassing, and i would assume other angels might worry he's giving the cael devils too much benefit of the doubt

toby's probably the most jumpy, especially after what he went through in PYHA. it's a combination of having a generally timid & passive disposition, anxiety brought on by the plague of devil attacks around nox, and then a heaping help of PTSD both his painful reversion and from being betrayed by people he thought he could trust.

i've mentioned jessie & joshua having comfort foods before, but. i feel like everyone has a comfort food? i'll stick to the main cast (minus the antagonist bc they're all supernatural entities) here:

Question: i recently see your art about Joshua and hurt, amputation and ambush, and it gave me the question about the Cael and they being hurt before "the awakening"

They heal like a normal human or they have a fast heal factor before all the shit?

they've always had rapid healing, but it scales with how severe the injury is

so normal small cuts/bruises/scrapes only heal very slightly faster, where as severed limbs/disemboweling etc can heal within a few hours or even minutes

but since most people aren't getting limbs cut off on a regular basis, anyone who knew the cael pre-reversion chocked up any unusually fast healing to natural human variance
