A day in the life
It has been a while since I wrote something decent, hasn't it? Things are pretty crazy lately...it's amazing how I'm surviving this mess every single day. As I write, my days in school are literally dwindling and graduation is fast approaching. Sometimes I can't believe that I've really come this faaaaar and that I've actually survived it because I've never loved nursing with all of my heart.
Nursing is tiring. Nursing is draining. Nursing means waking up in the wee hous of dawn or going round with just 2 hours of precious shuteye. Nursing means you abandon your right to go icky-yucky on stuff because, well, someone's got to do the dirty job. Someone's got to wipe someone's butt without complaint, someone's got to prick that baby's thigh with a needle, someone's got to retract that person's stomach open. Well that's just how it goes for us in this healthcare business. We do it because someone's got to do it. Not because we oh-so-willingly want to do it but because we're compelled to do it. Corny, it may sound but society would go boinkers without us.
Well graduation is like 28 days away and here I am, doodling for all I'm worth. I just find it quite amazing that The Good Lord has made me last all the way. The past four years have not been a stroll. It's been hard. But looking back, i think I'm not so dumb anymore too. I actually can do stuff and know stuff and these things are now stuck in me. For example, I always fold linens in three. I wash my hands like I'm gonna don gloves afterwards. I sometimes keep my hair in a bun while washing the clothes. Why what do you know. Stuff like nursing really rub off on you sometimes.
Haha oh well. Back to making my bloody requirements.
