Siestas (naps) and Flamenco Song from Babylon (Music)
What a silly nap I had! I relaxed on the sofa for a bit and woke up when I got cold because it was lunchtime, so it was warmer then… How about some music to wake me up? I'm warning you, it won't be pop or anything like that…
I'm sharing a "cante jondo," as they say in Spanish flamenco, but from Babylon. It's a joke, a way of referring to it because of a certain resemblance it shares with this. This type of Spanish ethnic music has uncertain origins, and in any case, it wouldn't be different from everything that was played in antiquity.
As for this, it's a reconstruction of scores and instruments before Christ by a considerable margin. We can't be sure it sounded exactly like this, and who knows how much this recreation has been influenced by the tones we have left, given that scores as we know them today don't exist among assirians. Even less so an MP3 or a vinyl record, wax crayon, or X-ray film (I'll explain the latter another day). For now, rejoice in how good and unique this sounds.
Gilgamesh has plenty of lore; I'll tell you a little more about it soon.
