Hanáčka wedding in the region of Moravia, Czechia
"Weddings in this region usually lasted from three days to a week, depending on the wealth of the bride's and groom's families. Celebrations were prepared for and lasted about a week beforehand. These weddings offered wealthy Haná peasants a perfect opportunity to show off in front of the entire village. On a personal level, the ceremony marked a transition: a girl became a woman, and a young man became a man; a change that was also reflected in their clothing. After the wedding, they were no longer permitted to wear the garments they had worn as unmarried individuals. To preserve this ancient tradition, local folklore groups, including the Přerov Haná group, occasionally perform reenactments of a traditional Haná wedding."
