I’m 20. I logged in on tumblr for the first time today, even tho I’m actually quite the person that would fit here. The past few days, I’ve been watching this new crime scene netflix show about the cecil hotel and Elisa Lam and her tumblr really intrigued me. for some reason, I wanted to leave something before I’m gone as well. Elisa is an inspiration. I feel as tho she is, not she was, and even tho that documentary sucked I’m taking something with me.

one thing that annoys me about Elisa Lam’s death and that documentary on netflix is all the conspiracy theorists saying it was ghosts like ??? for the love of god. idk about anyone else but i found that quite offensive to the poor girl, this is why i don’t watch youtube shit about this kind of thing cus i cba hearing “this is paranormal!!!!” as soon as something mentions mental health/illness

Just finished “The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel”. My only reaction is: WOW. Feeling so close to Elisa Lam, I just I would have met her before her death.

Nou, ben ik weer eens om een blog bij te gaan houden. Tijdens het kijken van The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel... I feel so sorry voor Elisa, arme meid.. 😔🥀

Maar tot zover hadden ze voor mij het YouTuber commentaar gerust weg kunnen laten. Vooral van die meid met die bril. Het is allemaal leuk en aardig om naar te kijken, maar ze zijn er alleen maar mee bezig omdat het geld opleverd. Views & likes = geld.

Op het eerste oog lijken al die Crime series super spannend en geloofwaardig. Maar als je er genoeg hebt gezien dan merk je vanzelf, ze zeggen allemaal, she could, i believe, they believe, what if, may she, maybe she.. Er word echt veel speculatie ingebracht maar deze worden bijna gebracht als feiten, en dan valt alles ineens op zijn plek? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Kijk bijv naar Ghost Hunters, waar mijn beste vriendin Samantha helemaal gek van is.

In deze serie gaan de onderzoekers letterlijk uit van wat mensen zeggen en denken. Als er een buurman, neef en kennis komt aanlopen en die zegt iets dan kun je merken dat de dingen die ze zeggen worden aangenomen als feiten, en dan is alles ineens figured out? Alles valt ineens op zijn plek? Nee, voor mensen zoals ik is er toch echt meer voor nodig om een goed écht geloofwaardig verhaal neer te zetten over geesten. Geluiden die ze snachts horen, geesten die ineens (precies de goeie) namen roepen of woorden waardoor er dan bij de crew toevallig gelijk een lampje gaat branden. 🙄 Ghost Hunters is voor mij te toevallig allemaal. Als de WWE, met nadruk op de E van ENTERTAINMENT, het allemaal nep doet voor alle bakken met geld, waarom dan niet hetzelfde op het gebied van geesten? Tegenwoordig kunnen ze al die gekke stemmen en geluidjes gewoon zelf erin editen. Of even doen alsof ze bezeten zijn door een geest, want hoelang doen ze dit nou al? Het draait uiteindelijk toch allemaal maar om 1 ding voor een groot deel van de wereld, geld.

Ergens denk ik dat mensen die in ditsoort tvmensen geloven van Ghost Hunters, gewoon erg simpele zielen zijn ofzo. Maar hey, ookal geloof ik er niet helemaal in, in Ghost Hunters, ik zat er wel helemaal in en ze maken het zeker wel spannend en creepy.

Omg... Just watched the 3rd episode of the Netflix documentary of Elisa Lam and it’s so sad and creepy. I literally cannot stop thinking about it. I actually first read about this story back in 2017 but I really didn’t think much about it. I am so curious about who killed her and who she was talking to? It traumatizes me to go to ANY hotel now. Elisa Lam was so young.. It kills to hear her story. I’m like about to go to bed, I am not ready for the nightmares I am about to experience LMAO.
