all time low / kevin + cecily
“Remember to put on some pants, because I think that Lena is going to come over to get her sunglasses that she left here yesterday.” Gwen had said on her way out to work.
Kevin gave her a look, “Since when does Lena care if I wear pants?”
Gwen didn’t say anything, but Kevin could tell that she knew he was right. It was Saturday morning, which meant that Kevin wasn’t going to move from in front of the tv until at least two o’clock and he really didn’t have any plans to put anything other than his ridiculous old (but ridiculously comfortable) star wars t-shirt and his boxers.
He heard Lena come in about an hour later (she had her own key), “Hey, Lena,” He said, getting up to greet her but when he turned around he realized that it was Cecily and not Lena, “Haaaa - hi, Cecily, hi. Oh, okay. I didn’t -- um, I didn’t know that you were going to be here! Not that it matters. I don’t really care. I mean, I do care, but not that much. I mean -- I care the appropriate amount.” He said, trying to laugh, but it came out all weird like he was trying to make an animal sound or something.
I hate myself.
“ -- which is what you should tell my girlfriend!” He found himself shouting. He’d spoken before he’d thought that one through. Someone he thought he’d seem both cooler and less like he was, or ever had been, into her if he brought up that he had a girlfriend (which he didn’t).
Just shut up and don’t say anything else.
“I’m not wearing pants.”
