Today, we prepare for the 12th Annual Jaime P. Martinez Thanksgiving in the Barrio🤎 Despite the supply chain challenges we will be serving 400 families. They will receive a complete Thanksgiving meal that they can take home to prepare with their families😍 I’m grateful for the legacy that my father-in-law, the late, Jaime P. Martinez left behind. I’m grateful that my husband, Ernest has continued to honor his dad. As I wind down for the evening after a very eventful day, I’m grateful 😊for the blessings and for the wisdom that I received from a wonderful woman...Ms. Dolores Huerta😍 Who is Dolores you ask❓She is an American labor leader & civil rights activist who, with Cesar Chavez, co-founded the National Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). More importantly, Dolores is a great inspiration to many and she is definitely a wonderful example of a true leader with a servants heart ♥️ We also had the pleasure of meeting one of her son’s Richard Chavez, the nephew of Cesar Chavez. It’s true when they say that as a parent you truly lead by example and it’s not the things you SAY but the things you DO that have the most impact.
