if you've ever been a kid on a camping trip with a bunch of other kids and relatively little adult supervision, that's the vibes of the canis expedition company, except that the supervision was completely remote, and there was a good chance you'd die

(also they weren't like, Kid kids, they'd had several years to train before being sent off, and even if they hadn't, they were still built as fully functional adults. but they were young and silly. they licked poles and played the penis game)

#cecposting #another cec tidbit: despite being related by cog standards. the 6 generally didn't view each other as family #some of them saw their bond as more familial than others did but even then it wasn't literal to any of them #it was “you're like a brother to me”. not “you are my brother”#they generally viewed themselves as a group of friends who “grew up” together #(grew up in quotes because again. they didn't have a childhood in the usual sense. but their whole training process was somewhat analogous #to the whole idea)

silly laelaps fact: before he and the others were sent off on the expedition, he would regularly just. walk around naked. it's hot and he's covered in (faux) fur, so what's the problem here? why can skelecogs be naked when he can't?
