Cedarmere is the deputy of Birchclan. He is Embershock’s brother, and they were the children of the previous leader, Resinstar. Cedar is friendly, naive, and idealistic, but a good fighter when he needs to be, and now one of the clan’s most experienced warriors after illness took its toll on their clan. He is good friends with Spiderface, and oblivious to his friends pretty obvious crush on him. He can be “a lot” and needs to be reigned in sometimes, though he means well. He learned from his father skills in de-escalating, and serves as a good diplomat, though his optimistic nature can be grating to some.

Wake Me In The Morning - NGHBRS

Just a bit more music that was made inside the studio that this now (unfortunately) defunct local band, NGHBRS, set up inside of Cedarmere. This was always a favorite off this album.

Did you know that sometimes there are places that are so special that they help to create music?

Cedarmere is one of those places. By no means do I know the whole story or their relation to this place, even though there were friends of friends involved and I suppose I could've asked at any point (but I didn't, sorry!), but a now defunct Long Island band that went by the name of NGHBRS, all the way back in 2013, got permission from the county or "The Friends of Cedarmere" (or both?) and wrote and recorded an album in this old mansion.

This video gives a few quick shots of the inside of the mansion and also I always thought the album was so obviously influenced by the experiences of spending so much time on that plot of land. There was one night, I don't remember exactly the time of year, but it was cold and we brought blankets, and we decided to drive up and just see if we could catch any of whatever meteor shower was happening that night from the safety of reflecting pool.

We walked in and saw lights on in the house. We laid down and listened and had already been fans of the band and immediately understood what was going on (okay, we texted a couple people to fact-check first). It felt like one of those things, one of those nights and moments that only Cedarmere could deliver.
