EAFA’s Mass Kidnapping
By Cedric Grayson (El Asilo Gazette)
Many of El Asilo Universty of Fine Art’s students were rescued today in the wake of Angelo Fermata’s murder. Online tips pointed police to his basement, where students (and body parts) were being held in state of suspended animation thanks to Fermata’s powers. These students have all been reported missing over the course of several years, and are currently receiving treatment at Preston Winters Memorial Hospital for their physical and psychological injuries.
Evidence and testimony from students reveals that Fermata was actually an art forger, taking in young, down on their luck students and luring them back to his basement by telling them they were destined for greatness - and then either freezing them with his powers or putting them to work indefinitely.
EAFA has reason to celebrate today with many of their students returned to their families. One student in particular - Jude Baer - was first on the scene to help rescue her classmates - seriously injuring herself to do so - and she had this to say about Fermata:
“We knew he [Fermata] had something to do with the missing students, we just never had any proof. He was probably the worst person I’ve ever met, and y’know, in El Asilo that’s saying something. I’m glad he’s gone.”
Fermata’s home has been quarantined by the police as they catalog evidence. A list of the rescued students is available on the EAFA and EAPD websites, and will be updated as more information is found.
