so I was just... looking at expensive books and fantasizing as one does when I saw this

Rowling has said that she was extremely moved by her reading of the Iliad at the age of nineteen, particularly the scene in which Hector [???] returns to battle to rescue Patroclus’ body. In The Goblet of Fire, Harry returns Cedric’s body to Hogwarts after the two are lured away to a remote graveyard by Voldemort during the Triwizard Tournament, an incident she has said was directly influenced by Homer. “The idea of the desecration of a body, a very ancient idea… I was thinking of that when Harry saved Cedric’s body.”

so I don’t know if I’m drunk and not remembering shit buuuuuuuuuuut I think the writer meant Achilles (they didn’t it was Menelaus???) and so I went digging for the original dirt and got this

Saving Cedric’s body reminded me of the Hector Patroclus Achilles triangle in the ”Iliad.” That’s where it came from. That really, really, REALLY moved me when I read that when I was 19. The idea of the desecration of a body, a very ancient idea… I was thinking of that when Harry saved Cedric’s body.

so. just happening to think about Achilles rescuing Patroclus’ body, eh?

haven't done much with tgs in a while but here's a v quick doodle of cedry! they get a cool magic tattoo thing at some point. the ability it gives them is basically localized temperature/water control. so they can make snow/rain/etc in a v small area or directly from their hands/breath, and they can slightly affect the weather in a larger area. it also gives them slight protection from cold.

Can Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe star in a movie (or tv series) together again? As bi boyfriends. Please. Maybe portraying characters that are like the ones they portrayed the last time they were in a movie together. Y’know, Cedric and Harry.

I just want my OTP to kiss on-screen, is it too much to ask? Pretty please! :)
