So I still want to die and typing is way harder, but I have to say that I've been binging NottPott fics like there's no tomorrow and while most fanfic sucks the suck rate for these fics has been high as fuck. Like I can barely type but I have to say these fic writers are so fucking weak I can only find a bare handful who don't understand how to navigate with characters written by bigots who are supposed to be good. Just so fucking inept on every level. There's a reason that 'bashing' tags are so prevalent for this ship, and it's not because Rowling's writing was bigoted or weak

Honestly makes me feel better about never finishing any of my stories. People are just hateful. It's why the first comment I got when updating was about how shameful my treatment of my stories was. Anyways, it doesn't matter. It took me like 20 minutes to type this post. My writing days are over

can you give me some advice pls? a good friend of mine is a lesbian, and she's turning into a terf. she keeps making vagina-centric comments about sex and how much she hates "the y chromosome" and that if she was a dictator she'd make femininity a death-penalty crime. it's driving me crazy. she's a really good friend otherwise and helped me out of a dv situation with my ex and paid my rent on multiple occasions so i CAN'T cut her off or anything - i owe her so much. i just want her to realize trans women aren't oppressing her. i'm worried if i cut her off she'll have no one to deradicalize her. do you (or your followers) have any advice that ISN'T "tell her to drop dead" or anything like that?

you actually can cut her off, you can cut off anybody if they're being an asshole. which she is. you might owe her, like, a ride to the airport but you certainly don't owe her an audience to spiraling into whatever this shitshow is. tell her to fix her heart or you're gone, and when she doesn't fix her heart get the fuck gone.

You can't fix other people (nor should you).

You can't, generally, just have a couple of conversations with a person driving themselves down a hate spiral and have them just stop. Getting people out of these thought patterns is a massive ing for actual trained professionals. You, lovely anon who wants to help their friend, are not a trained professional and can end up doing a lot of harm to yourself with nothing to gain.

If you want a script: "I love you, you've been good to me, but I don't love the person you're turning into, and I can't be around that person."

Even if she comes back and goes "hey, i don't want to be that person, either" it's not your job (nor should you try to take on the job) to 'fix her'. There's therapists, organizations, literature, etc, that will be more effective at helping lead her down a better path. You can cheer her on, but don't try to take on the burden of being her conscience.

TRUST ME, that is not a role any physical being should be tasked with (either by themselves or others).

man, I sure do wish I'd gotten a chance to write professionally or had someone to edit/beta my works who truly cared about my writing as opposed to feeling obligated by their care for me before I drank so much my whole left hand developed neuropathy. Some artists are destined to fail and I'm one of them and it sucks but at least now I can completely give up since I can only type one handed

I tried, I really did. Even released something I'd had on deck for ages. But the first comment I read was that my story deserved better, and I know. I know that's true and why I wish I would die without being a pussy about it. I know my stories deserve better, and they'll never get it. So just.... let me go without being a selfish asshole
