One Year
Yesterday, it was one year since my first day of culinary school. I had to stop and have a think because it's really amazing to see the personal and professional progress that I've made in that year. In fact, when I look over my class - AOS 15! - we've all grown by leaps and bounds.
A year ago, it was my first time moving away from home. I was 26 and by all accounts a late bloomer. Happily plugging away at Apple as a Genius, cooking and catering through the week. I remember the night before class, driving my mom and Kalei back to the airport and crying at the toll bridge to come home...and subsequently getting into an accident, LOL. And pretty much playing Angry Birds throughout the entire orientation.
The fact of the matter is that looking back, I've done everything I've set my mind to. Going to school, learning as much as I can, moving to London for externship. I've surprised myself at what I can do when I really put my mind to it. There is so much more good things coming...I can't wait!
Mostly though, again thanks to my merry band of cheerleaders. Everyone who ever bought a pie or a cake from my crazy 16 year old self to now, you helped fuel the dream to becoming a reality. Some of you...I will NEVER forget how supportive you've been. I love you.
7 days until I land my happy little self at LAX. Again, I'm gonna miss London but the next adventure is already started and I can't wait to see what the next year brings for me and my family!
Oh yeah
