i’ve been looking for this for ten minutes, but here is some angst i wrote about RQG 174, posted at the request of a friend - spoilers for 174 below

thinking about if cel discovered barnes n carter rather than azu, cel who is whatever they are with barnes and carter, cel who has no healing magic and has forgotten about their healing potions in their panic of seeing their people hurt

cel standing there, yelling for azu or zolf but they have to wait for them to come, so they try to comfort barnes who is barely conscious but is worried about carter and fretting about cel, even though they’re fine and he’s impaled on a tree, cel who is struggling to remember the basic field medic shit they learnt over fifty years ago at this point, panicking because they don’t know how to fix this because humans aren’t machines but if they were they could fix this, cel passing the point of panic where they become calm and finally remembering what to do, telling barnes to calm down and stop moving, cel checking carter’s pulse, and cel trying incredibly hard not to show how scared they are while doing chest compressions so they don’t scare barnes anymore, being found by azu and zolf not long later, hands bloody and trying very hard not to cry
