The Art of the Boundary: Why Celebrities Need to Be Like Cena, and Fans Need to Be Like Me
Fame is a double-edged sword, but somewhere along the line, society decided that the blade only cuts one way. We have cultivated a culture where public figures are stripped of their basic human right to privacy, treated less like people and more like public property. It is a toxic dynamic that needs a massive reset. If we want to fix this, we need to look at two distinct sides of the coin: how…
Am currently blasting my Elvis Presley playlist and had a random memory flashback. I’ll never forget when my family was telling stories and it was my grandma’s turn. She said that she went to Elvis Presley’s 1956 concert in Newport News, VA, and he was doing signings before the show. Well, she got his signature (”he was the politest thing you ever did see”) and she had walked about halfway to the exit when she realized that he had kept her pen by mistake.
And, my dudes....... leave it to my grandmother to turn around, march right back up to his table, and ask Elvis Presley, the King of Rock N Roll, for her pen back. “His eyes had got this big and his eyebrows had jumped up, but he apologized just as sweet as can be and gave it right back.”
Man, what I would give to see a picture of that. She said she still had his signature somewhere. Anyway. Wild.
