Chicken and Rice
Before I begin with an average Jane recipe, I should introduce the background of the dish. When I was younger, my mother made me some chicken and rice. The broth in the rice made me feel better with it's "chicken ninjas", as I used to call them. This dish might be able to help someone else out there. Enjoy and have fun!! Feel free to add on to the dish.
INGREDIENTS:
~Chicken Broth
~rice
~Celery
DIRECTIONS:
pour chicken broth into pot.
About one box should do
turn stove on to high
wait till the broth boils (like you would for noodles)
while you’re waiting pour rice into measuring cup.
I like to put in about 2 cups of rice
rice expands
chop up celery on a cutting board
one celery stalk usually does the trick.
Once the water is boiling pour in the rice and the celery.
make sure to turn the water down a few degrees
don’t want to over boil
put a timer on for 6-8 minutes.
once rice looks fluffy and extra white it is ready.
Make sure to turn off the stove.
grab a bowl and add the rice to it.
This dish may also be made more complicated if other veggies are added. Be creative!! Make it fun!! I love fun, easy, simple cooking... Enjoy!!!
