both admin heron and admin howl envisioned celeste as a place of comfort for many oc and au writers that wanted a university setting with a twist. we wanted a place to focus on your muses instead of others ooc, which is why we decided against an ooc group chat, and a place to write without the overarching presence of nsfw, hence the no nsfw group chat or threads group. we have also always prided ourselves and our members of being extremely welcoming, and we appreciate them always for being so. however, the longer we stay open, the more connections foster, and we know it can be hard for newcomers to assimilate at first! sometimes, it can be hard to speak in a place where the majority knows each other, so anon, we understand where you’re coming from.
in terms of advice, the best we can give you is to attempt to out your muse out there. even if it’s with plotting, or just in the chats, try putting them out there! if it still feels awkward after that, please come to us off anonymous or on anonymous and we can help you the best we can. we want to do everything we can to make sure all of our members, new and existing, are comfortable and having fun. in terms of the bickering and uncomfortable topics, we have made an announcement for members to be mindful of others when participating in group chats and to be welcoming to everyone. if the behaviour still persists, please trust that the both of us will handle it. as much as the admins want to help, the members also have to be willing to put in the work as well. and that part is something we cannot control, but we can try our best to encourage!
