In Raidou, there are some statues around the capital, those 2 oni looking statues at the bridge, the frog with an umbrella at konnoya, do they have any significance in japan? are they deities?
I really only have an idea about the frog statue by the Konnou-ya. Frogs are simply considered a symbol of good fortune in Japan. I wish I could find a better source than this, but at least it's from 2019 (so before the proliferation of AI enshittification). Search quality around the board has just gotten tons worse*. I know I've complained about this before, but it bears repeating.
Also check out the various meanings of "kaeru" on Jisho, though only "frog" and "return" matter in this instance.
About the other statue I sadly have no clue. If I had to guess, I'd say this one is based on something extant from the post-Meiji era in Tokyo. Whatever it is, it's possible Doi had a hand in it.
*You know what else seems worse of late? Autocorrect (in-browser on PC). On the PC, I type one-handed and make a ton of typos, so I rely on Autocorrect. But it just seems....stupider now.
