Thank u for saying something!!! I've had my own discomfort with the incel stuff myself but I'm not a coiner/active in the community so I never ended up saying anything. I have issues with the community glorifying Something Else as of late, but I won't mention it since that's not what your post was about. Incel has been rlly watered down lately and seen as a "funny loser nerd" thing and not 4chan shit which is really gross to me... This isn't even a Tumblr thing it's like societal... It's good to be aware of what words we're using and where they come from :3 -Grokxy
of course! we'd been uncomfortable with it for a bit, but were never really sure how talking about it might be received and if people would agree with/support us. we actually wrote the post back on december 18th, but then it just... sat in our drafts for a while because we were too nervous to post it. we're still nervous about it, to be clear, but other members of the community have told us they'll have our back if we need it.
yeah, it's fascinating how easily words can get watered down and/or removed from their origins! there are so many words that have entered mainstream vocabulary that come from incel and/or alt-right spaces, like -maxxing, -pilled, and based. it's unsettling, wondering if people don't know the origin/association, or know and don't care.
Hiii! I just found your account and binged your Outlaw series. before I got too sick to hold an instrument for any length of time I went to school for flute and piccolo! now, I don’t play any instruments except singing when I can’t really hear myself because my ear is better than my voice and I only like to sing when I can’t quite hear how out of tune I am.
