Celestial Warfare: A Tale of Brothers
Long before time had a name, there were 15 realms that existed in the midst of the void. These realms had unique landscapes and beings. But this story is not about those realms.
The 16th realm came into being suddenly yet silently. It wasn't, then simply was. On the first day of its existence when the sun was at its highest peak, the golden rays it cast down on the barren landscape solidified and formed a man. He would be known as the First Spinjitzu Master but referred to as the Father of Light. He had cast his eyes on the barren land around him, feeling wonder and awe at the place he would call home. But the longer he looked, the more he felt alone.
And so, the sun had set with his sadness, giving way to the first night. And with the night, came the moon. From the shadows night cast upon the land, the Overlord, Father of Darkness was born. Neither knew of the others' existence. Not until destiny saw fit for them both to wander to the heart of the vast realm that birthed them. Upon first meeting, they were curious. They were so different from the other.
The First Spinjitzu Master had hair that matched the rays of the sun that had risen with his hope, eyes as golden as the sun, skin as fair as the sky. The Overlord was almost exactly opposite. He bore hair that so around his shoulders in loose, inky waves, eyes that glowed bright magenta and skin as dark as the night. A strange sight he must have made. But the Father of Light only smiled and took his hand, uttering one word.
"Brother…"
Together they lived, together they learned. The Overlord marveled at the day his brother brought as the First Spinjitzu Master marveled at his night. But the Overlord always felt his night lacked something, that it could be better… So the First Spinjitzu Master gifted the Overlord with something he would always keep close to his heart: a star. The bright white light of the star captivated the younger brother.
It inspired him.
The older brother was appalled once his younger brother broke the star into two halves and a half into fragments. But the Overlord pleaded his trust, and trust he did. He found his trust was well placed once his brother of darkness threw the fragments into the sky, lighting the pitch black with bright, twinkling stars. They spent many a night together, arranging them into constellations, making a select few brighter than the rest for navigation. The Overlord kept the untouched half of the original star close to his heart as he pondered a gift in return for his brother's kindness. He did not wish to defile his skies with his darkness yet he wanted to return his kindness desperately.
And so, he gifted him with a shadow.
He had expected so much more of his gift but it was only that: a shadow. Nowhere near the greatness of a star. It had brought sadness into the younger brother's heart but the older would have none of it. He found the shadow fascinating, laughing as it mimicked his every move. He had hugged his younger brother and has smiled at him once he expressed his disappointment. The words he spoke had filled the Overlord's heart.
"Morn not the quality of your gift. It is the thought that matters most. Even so, I adore it. It serves as a reminder of us, of our brotherhood. For wherever there is light, there is also shadow. Wherever I am, you are also with me and the same in reverse. That alone, is the greatest gift you could have ever given me."
The younger brother had felt so touched at the meaning his brother had found in his gift, that he made it so that all creatures and objects alike would bare a shadow whenever light was present. The Golden Age, as they would fondly call the thousands of years it was only them both and the creatures that also emerged in their home, held their most memorable moments together, learning of their powers, their place and role in the realm they called Ninjago.
Then…
The humans emerged.
And so began the slow spiral to war.

It's Overlord, FSM, ninja (esp Kai, Nya and Lloyd) Wu and Garmadon centric.
