Her hands had moved to her cheeks, covering them as she felt the heat radiate off her skin. No amount of ice could have survived that. Hell, Lucy had to pinch herself to make sure what he said, what was happening was after all real. When she clearly felt the pain on the side of her cheek, it was clear she hadn't been halucenating.

"Wait, are you serious Kaito?"

With that question now out of her mouth, the blondes stomach flipped nervously. The sudden thought that this could be some kind of dare or joke stung. It didn't matter if it wasn't true, the thought alone was enough. She needed to remain calm. No need to over react. No need to allow her thoughts to even go that far as a matter of fact. After all, it wasn't like Shiro was there to listen in.

“Yes, and to be honest... I’ve liked you since we met.” Kaito replied, still not directly looking at Lucy, it was hard to tell who was more red. At first Kaito thought his feelings were misplaced, thinking he was still trying to get over his last relationship, which was with VIvienne. But he was sure enough time had passed, that what he was feeling towards her, was real. 

“You don’t need to give me an answer straight away, I just want you to know,” he reassured the blonde. A confession like this was not to be taken lightly after all, and he wanted to make sure this wouldn’t ruin their friendship either.

“This better be it, or I swear to Mavis...” Meanwhile Shiro was indeed listening in, to him Kaito had been a complete mess and off his magic game ever since he met Lucy. Kaito wasn’t even this bad with Viv, and that was a trainwreck everyone was glad once it was all over. So the Exceed’s plan B, was to have Kaito confess and hope he’d grow some dragon balls or whatever too in the process.

Even though her key had been broken and lost, Aquarius still considered herself to be Lucy’s Celestial Spirit. Her contract was originally with Lady Layla, but then the key and contract was handed down to that spoiled rotten brat kid of hers. The Water Bearer was so resentful of the entire situation, not only  because her key holder and friend had been taken from her, but now she was obligated to be under contract with Layla’s bratty kid. Granted, it wasn’t entirely Lucy’s fault that she was in such a foul humor all of the time. Her mother had just died after all, and her father was less than present in her life. But Aquarius was still bitter as hell about the whole situation, even though deep down she truly loved Lucy.

Feeling a major disturbance in the human realm, Aquarius decided it was time to go ahead and open her gate. There was no telling what kind of trouble the damn blonde had gotten herself into this time around so she needed to move fast. Appearing in the human realm with a flash, she glared at the Celestial Mage with the coldest and most  intimidating look she could muster up. “What the hell have you done this time, you stupid bimbo???” she growled, leaning down so that her face was mere inches from the Key Holder’s own face.

“WE’RE BACK!” Natsu announced as he kicked open the door to the Fairy Tail guild, welcomed back casually by the guild members inside. The dragon slayer walked up to the back of man with silver hair and a white cloak, then proceeded to throw a fire enhanced punch at him.

The man swiftly turned around and caught Natsu’s fist with a clawed hand, creating steam in between them as the fire fizzed out. “We heard you the first time Natsu, and also about how you went overboard in Hargeon. Master is not going to be happy about this you know,” he told him. His front now revealed a black sleeveless attire under the white cloak, and black framed glasses worn with sharp light blue eyes behind them..

“Kaito! You lied to me about the Salamander you cold bastard! It was just some guy from Titan Nose pretending to be from our guild so he could pick up chicks!” Natsu yelled at him angrily, even more so that his fire got cancelled out the way it did.

“I did not. Like I told you, it’s probably a dead end. It’s more likely referring to you more than Igneel. Don’t get angry with me just you got your hopes up on your own, idiot.” Kaito responded cooly before letting him go. With a huff, Natsu stomped off to vent elsewhere.

“Oh, Natsu’s back? It’s time we settled things from the other day you damn strawberry toaster!” Gray confronted Natsu and soon a fight started, escalating to the point it dragged the rest of the guild in.

Kaito sighed heavily at the chaos around him, still at his spot until he noticed Lucy. Unable to recognise her by sight or scent, he promptly walked up to her. “Hello there miss, are you new here? Perhaps a client, or a potential new member?” He asked her politely with a smile.

“I saw her come in with Natsu, the guild must be getting desperate if he’s bringing back pinup girls for new recruits.” Said a white skinned and scruffy looking version of Happy that flew over, then landed on Kaito’s shoulder, giving Lucy an analysing look.

“Shiro, that’s rude. Don’t judge a book by its cover, she could be as powerful as Erza for all we know.” Kaito told the winged white cat on his shoulder, closing his eyes briefly in irritation. “Sorry about him, he was born without a filter. My name is Kaito Yuki, a pleasure to meet you. I am a member of Fairy Tail like Natsu, welcome to Fairy Tail.“ He introduced himself, casually grabbing the back collar of a member thrown his way, then tossed them back where they came from. It was clear this man was used to this, and learned to deal with it in his own way.

KaiLu Headcanons - Part 2-2

Kaito first meets Lucy after Natsu brings her back to Fairy Tail, who promptly yells at him for giving him bad intel on Igneel.

Kaito shows Lucy around the guild and acts as her mentor, Shiro on the other hand gives Lucy very a hard time, even calling her ‘Luigi’ because he couldn’t care less.

Kaito and Shiro follow Natsu and Happy when they go search for Macao, with Lucy soon following behind after a comment made by Gray.

Kaito gives Lucy his coat/cloak to keep her warm when they arrive at Mt. Hakabe, and later takes on a Blizzardvern that knocks Natsu off their path. While he does, Shiro lets Lucy get kidnapped by a Vulcan to a cave and later reluctantly goes to rescue her after some convincing from Kaito.

By the time he arrives, Shiro (in his white tiger form) knocks out Taurus, thinking it was the enemy. He fights the Vulcan equally after, until it uses Taurus’ axe for an advantage.

Kaito returns just in time to save Shiro from getting beheaded, asking Lucy for permission first before freezing and shattering the axe (he assumed it was her’s lmao)

Kaito is about to defeat the Vulcan when Natsu rushes in first to knock it out, still pissed over the fight with the Bizzardvern before.

By the end of the rescue, Kaito is so disappointed about not being able to show off in front of Lucy, that he goes back home without taking his cloak/coat back from her.

Shiro later starts rumours that Kaito got distracted by Lucy’s ‘beautiful blonde hair’, and that she took down all the monsters with just an axe, implying that she’s on par with Erza with it comes to brute strength at least.

This day (July 4) will most likely be the day Kaito eventually proposes to Lucy, in the very same cave too, which he kind of made his throne room as the (Dragon) King of Mt. Hakobe after befriending all the inhabitants there.

Ash raised an eyebrow, genuinely befuddled. “That’s what I meant. Where I grew up, the more shifty and cutthroat you were, the better chance you and your partners had at surviving, not to mention winning. In short, I was saying that they were ideal.”

Ash couldn’t tell how it had happened, or what had happened, for that matter. All he knew was that he had been in the forest one minute, then the next, he was surrounded by a blinding, shimmering light. When his vision cleared, he was in what looked to be someone’s room, and in that room was a young blonde-haired girl holding an object that seemed similar to some kind of key. For a moment, Ash just stared in confusion, then asked, “Uh, excuse me, but you wouldn’t happen to know where I am, would you?”

It was early morning when Gray heard a knocking coming from the front door of his home.Slowly getting out of his bed, the ice mage grabbed a robe at the edge of his bed then made his way to the door.“Alright just give me a minute!"he called from down the hall while rustling a hand sleeplishly through his hair.

Once the ice mage made it to the door of his home, he opened it to see Lucy standing at the doorway."Oh good morning Lucy."he said with a smile appearing, but it wasn’t long turning to a questioning expression when he heard the celestial mage ask if he was wearing any type of pants under his robe."Yes of course I am."Gray replied moving aside so Lucy can step inside.
