Can we see an interaction between the CrystalFlower couple by any chance? (Maybe before the Teal Mask trip???)
…I just need to fuel this fire with them. I’m so obsessed.
It took me a little while to figure out how an interaction between them would look before the events of the Teal Mask (and thus, before the start of ELTZ). I like to imagine that Flowery actually comes from the present timeline of the story—where the Terastal energy is messing up different dimensions—but he traveled back to the past to try and give Briar a subtle warning. He loves her and doesn't want to see her go too far down her dark path in the future.
For some wild reason, my brain also pictures him as a fake Grass-type Pokémon Biology professor at Blueberry Academy. 😅
By the way, all the botanical descriptions you'll see in this interaction are based on actual research I did (I absolutely love flower meanings! 🌸), and I adore how well they fit into this scene.
With that being said, I really hope you enjoy this crossover interaction! 💜
(The Blueberry Academy staff room is quiet, illuminated only by the artificial, bluish glow of the large windows and the harsh light of a laptop screen. Briar is sitting at her desk, surrounded by scattered notes on Kitakami and student profiles. Flowery—currently in his human Darkner form, posing as the school’s eccentric new Grass-type Biology teacher—leans against the edge of her desk, holding a cup of tea he doesn't actually intend to drink. He watches her with an intense, lingering gaze that she completely misses.)
Briar: (Frustrated, typing rapidly on her keyboard) “The administration is being ridiculously bureaucratic about this. A research trip to Kitakami cannot be left to a random lottery. I need specific elements if I want my study on the Terastal energy to yield actual results.”
Flowery: (He chuckles, taking a slow step closer, his eyes scanning the profiles on her desk. He spots the faces of Carmine, Kieran, and a specific application from Uva Academy) “You know, technically speaking, picking your favorite lab rats beforehand is against school regulations, Briar. The protocol says it should be random. But then again... rules are really more like a suggestion, aren't they? Especially when they get in the way of what we actually want.”
Briar: (She sighs, looking up from her screen, slightly annoyed by his presence but too exhausted to dismiss him) “It is not about favorites, Flowery. It’s about efficiency. This excursion is my chance to finally prove my ancestor Heath's findings. And to do that, I need her.” (She taps her finger firmly against the profile of the Uva Academy student: Syringa Lilac) “She is a descendant of one of Heath’s most crucial collaborators. I have a specific proposition for her, and she needs to be in Kitakami.”
Flowery: (His smile freezes for a fraction of a second. Internally, a cold wave of dread washes over him. He knows that name. He knows what happens to Briar once Lilac steps into her life. He masks his panic with a playful smirk) “Ah, Lilac! What a small world. You know, before I transferred to Blueberry, I used to teach at Uva Academy. Totally true, don't look up the records! I actually met her.”
Briar: (Her eyes light up with sudden interest, turning her full attention to him) “You met her? Tell me about her personality. Is she easily influenced? Is she dedicated to academic pursuits, or is she more... malleable?”
Flowery: (He feels a surge of thrill seeing her beautiful, calculating eyes focused entirely on him. He loves her sharp mind, but he hates why she's using it right now. Desperate to steer the conversation away from Lilac, he waves his hand dismissively, laughing) “Oh, she’s... a handful. To be honest, she reminds me of a friend's kid back home. A quiet child named Kris. Always staring blankly, ripping people's plans apart just by existing…”
Briar: (Frowning, writing down the name) “Kris? Are they another student from Paldea? Should I look into their file as well?”
Flowery: (He quickly leans over her shoulder, gently but firmly placing his hand over her notebook to stop her from writing, his heart aching at her proximity) “No, no, no! Don't bother. Kris is just... another random student. Totally irrelevant. Let’s talk about something much more interesting. Like... the biology of local flora? For example, did you know that in old folklore, people believed bringing a Lilac branch inside the house brings terrible misfortune?”
Briar: (She blinks, looking at his hand on her notebook, then up at his face, completely oblivious) “Superstition. I am a scientist, Flowery. I don't care about old wives' tales.”
Flowery: (His voice softens, losing some of its playful edge. He looks directly into her eyes, a deep, hidden sadness in his gaze. He is thinking about how this dimension's Terastal energy is the only thing keeping him alive and human, yet it's the very thing that will drive her to madness. He hates that for once, his meta-powers cannot change the code of this tragic script) “It’s not just a superstition. Sometimes, when you invite a delicate flower into your home... into your life... it brings a storm that breaks everything. Some things are beautiful, but they are meant to be left alone.”
Briar: (She scoffs gently, pulling her notebook away, missing the desperate warning in his words) “You are far too poetic for a biology teacher. Nature is meant to be studied and mastered, not feared.”
Flowery: (He lets his hand fall back to his side. Internally, he is breaking. He knows her destiny. He wants to rewrite her patch, to save her from herself, but the universal code won't let him) “Hey, smile again. You know... there's another flower. The Sweet Briar. Botanists say its thorns can wound you, but its leaves smell like fresh apples, and its extracts can heal. There’s always hope for a flower like that. Even when the future looks a bit dark.”
Briar: (She looks back at her screen, completely absorbed in her programming, offering a faint, dismissive smile) “A flower that wounds to heal? Sounds inefficient. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to finish coding these travel permits.”
Flowery: (He looks at her one last time, his chest tightening with hopeless ache. He realizes she will never look at him the way he looks at her—not while she is blinded by her obsession. He steps back into the shadows of the room, his voice dropping to a whisper she doesn't hear) “...Goodnight, Briar. Just remember I tried to warn you before the game started.”
Today’s trivia is a very personal one: Kieran.
Or rather… my interpretation of him 💙
I’ve talked a lot about how I see Lilac, since she’s an OC and I really wanted readers to get to know her and care about her as much as I do. But Kieran is just as important to me — maybe even more in some ways.
To me, he’s one of the most realistic Pokémon characters we’ve ever had.
(Though I’ll admit I might be a little biased, since I’ve had some similar experiences myself 😅)
The Teal Mask arc was relatively easy to write. There wasn’t much non-canon material to work with, and I wanted to preserve the original foundation of the story — the emotional ground on which everything else would be built.
But The Indigo Disk arc of Everything Leads to Zero introduces a lot of non-canon events. And while writing them, I found myself asking so many questions about Kieran 🤔
How would he react if this happened?
How would he behave if the protagonist had this kind of personality?
How can I deepen his character without turning him into someone else?
How would a romantic dynamic even work within the DLC’s plot?
Those are just a few of the dozens of questions I asked myself along the way.
I won’t lie — I was worried.
Sometimes I still am. I worried that my interpretation would drift too far from canon… or that it would stick too close and feel like a copy-and-paste.
Then I realized something important 🌱
Of course my interpretation is different. The context is different. The story is different. The relationships are different.
Think about it — don’t you react differently depending on who you’re talking to?
The same applies to Kieran. And honestly, to any fictional character.
I was especially afraid that readers might feel Kieran was too sweet with Lilac, considering how cold and abrasive he can be in The Indigo Disk. But the truth is… he’s never truly cruel to the protagonist. Not entirely.
And I think people sometimes forget that Kieran isn’t aggressive just for the sake of being aggressive. His behavior is a defense mechanism — and it’s full of contradictions 💔
He doesn’t want to be alone… yet he pushes people away out of fear of being hurt or left behind.
He idealizes strength because he thinks it’ll make him someone’s choice… but he also wants independence, because he believes that’s the only way to be strong.
He wants to protect others, to be the hero in someone’s story… without realizing that support itself is a form of protection. He doesn’t always have to be the hero to be loved.
And most importantly —
He doesn’t hate the protagonist for “taking” Ogerpon.
He doesn’t hate them for being strong.
He loves them. Too much.
He wants to be like them. He wants to be seen by them — to be acknowledged and appreciated, romantically or not. That part is up to each player’s interpretation 💞
He even says it himself, in what is one of the most human and heartbreaking Pokémon lines for me:
“I looked up to (protagonist) for so long… I wanted to be like her/him so, so badly. I didn’t know what else to do… But I guess I don’t have it in me to be like her/him after all.”
Whenever I start doubting my interpretation of him, I come back to these thoughts and reread my own answers. It grounds me — and it helps me write him honestly.
And I hope this trivia note does something similar for you 🫶
I hope it encourages you not to suppress your own interpretations just because they’re not 100% canon-accurate.
Because the truth is… unless you work at Game Freak, your interpretation will always be yours alone. And if you’re lucky enough to find someone to share it with — well 💎
Welcome to today’s Chapter Trivia, dear readers! Though, to be honest, it feels more like a pre-anniversary special. 🥳🎉
Even if it’s not the actual anniversary yet, I really wanted to kick things off with a piece of fan art!
This drawing actually hides some tiny little teasers inside, but they aren't that major—I honestly just added them because I felt like it. 🤭 I wanted it to have that manga cover or promotional poster vibe for the fic, and I’m super happy with how it turned out! I included what I consider to be the main elements of the story, almost as a way to look back at the adventure we’ve experienced together so far (and the one we’re about to experience!).
Though, I’ll be honest, coming up with an idea I actually liked wasn't easy. I felt so anxious because I wanted to create something truly special for this first pre-anniversary. But in the end, I told myself: "If I keep overthinking and falling into indecision, I risk not making anything at all." 🥺
Either way, I’m incredibly happy to have made it this far! But it’s still a bit too early for big speeches, so for now, let’s just enjoy the fan art! 💖
As for Chapter 53 itself, even though it was a bit complicated to write, I had a blast with the Inverse Battle! I guess you can tell from my writing just how much I love Lacey (and also how traumatized I still am from facing her for the first time). I truly find her quizzes and the creative ways she turns the tables so adorable and fun!
That’s why I gave her such an unique battle format; I feel like it’s exactly something Lacey would do in canon if she could (with proper regulatory approval, of course, because we all know how strict and respectful of the rules she is!).
But she isn't the only Elite Four member I loved writing in this chapter.
I also had so much fun with Drayton’s moments, especially when he sensed the presence of a dangerous Dragon-type inside the Master Ball that Lilac refused to use during the fight. 🐉 I feel like Dragon-type experts just have that kind of sixth sense, and honestly, it’s so cool! It makes me appreciate Dragon-types so much more.
By the way, the fact that he is canonically stated to be stronger than Lacey and her Fairy-types is mind-blowing! Our bro Drayton might look lazy, but when he gets serious, he MEANS BUSINESS. 😎🔥 Plus, I’m so excited to finally share his background for this fic, since his time to shine has officially come! But yeah, the fact that he managed to beat Lacey with Dragon-types—while I literally suffered through three consecutive losses against her—earned him my utmost respect. 😂🙌
Thank you so much for reading this Trivia
If you want to share your thoughts, my inbox is open as always! 💌
⚠️ (This message applies to everyone who follows this blog.) ⚠️
It seems that this time I need to step in not as the narrator Kyuk0n, but as the author of ELTZ.
I am truly happy and grateful that people are enjoying my fanfic so much. Answering questions here and reading your comments on AO3 is wonderful and really brightens my day, but lately, I feel things have been going a bit too far.
Roleplaying is fun every now and then and it’s good creative practice for me, but please don't forget that behind the characters' replies, it’s always just me, the author. I’m the one creating them, and maintaining that mindset takes a lot of mental energy.
I know readers are curious about what will happen next and that talking to the characters makes people feel part of the story, but I feel this is becoming a bit overwhelming. I can't reveal what happens later on—otherwise, what would be the point of writing the fic? Plus, this blog wasn't born as a pure roleplay account; it’s meant to be a personal diary about the behind-the-scenes and trivia of the AU, with only occasional character interactions.
I don't want to offend anyone, but I need to set some healthy boundaries for myself. Therefore, I ask everyone who follows me to please refrain from asking too many questions looking for hints, and to stop sending roleplay questions directed at the characters.
Talking to them won’t change the plot, the roleplays don’t influence the direction of the fic, and I can’t give away clues because I risk ruining details that are much better left experienced blindly.
You are still more than welcome to ask questions about the AU on this blog and comment under the chapters on AO3! Just please don't overdo it, don't always address the characters, and remember that this is an author-to-reader relationship. As a creator, I need to protect my story and my personal comfort by setting these boundaries.
Thank you so much to everyone for your understanding and continuous support! 💜
Today, a family member of mine was cleaning a room and, inside an old drawer, they found several notebooks from my childhood that I used when I first started drawing.
Finding my very first drawings felt amazing. For years, I wondered where they were, and I honestly thought they were lost forever and that I’d never see them again.
But here they are, right in front of my eyes! I'm so happy! ❤️❤️❤️
Sadly, this happiness was quickly ruined by this family member, who called them useless.
"You should throw them away. What's the point of keeping them if nobody looks at them? They just take up space and they're just doodles."
You have no idea how deeply those words hurt me. My heart broke 💔, especially because this person is a close family member who should know how important art is to me. They literally see me drawing every single day. Yet, what are precious memories and my very first steps into the art world to me, are just stupid notebooks and useless pieces of paper to them.
I think that's one of the most painful things you can say to an artist—that their drawings are worthless if they aren't perfect or if they don't make money.
These are some of my first drawings and OCs that I ever created. Sure, maybe they aren't the most incredible drawings in the world; they don't have shading, lighting effects, or perfect line art, and they aren't digital like the ones I make today. But it's thanks to them that my art is what you see on this blog today. And I won't let someone who doesn't value my hobbies tell me they have no worth. It's just so unfair! 😔
I'm sorry if this post is a bit sad or angry. I usually try to always show the positive sides of art, but today I really needed to vent. Since I know many artists follow this blog, I really wanted to talk about this with you guys. It's truly painful to have these clashes with people who, in theory, should support you and know you better than anyone else.
Do you guys also have old drawings or any kind of art supplies/materials that you've kept since childhood? What do they mean to you?
Thank you for reading this little vent. Having this blog where I can talk about my passions, knowing there is someone on the other side who shares them, really helps me not feel alone in moments like this. 🥹
In honor of DELTARUNE TOMMOROW, I’d like to see what The ELTZ and Deltarune cast are doing together.
Plus, I might know why they’re together. Juliana, it seems Indigo doesn’t just pull from Pokemon Violet save files. It’s pulling from other games too!
(Also, please tell me Briar didn’t discover this and meet Flowey.)
Kyuk0n: "DELTARUNE TOMORROW for everyone except me! I literally gotta survive Friday before I can even touch the game. Insert Mr. Krabs' tiny violin meme with this sad emoji right here 😭. But whatever! Let's peek at what’s breaking the fourth wall in our meta-narrative POV today."
[Kyuk0n focuses her narrator powers, zooming into the Dark World's Castle Town.]
(Turns out, over in Castle Town, Carmine aggressively challenged Ralsei to a tea-brewing showdown to prove who makes the ultimate blend for the squad. The others are scattered around the castle rooms, patiently waiting for the kettle to whistle.)
(Kieran, Lilac, Susie, and Kris are sitting around a table in a double-room that Ralsei magically merged together to fit everyone comfortably.)
Kieran: "Wowzers! The festival in Hometown sounds a whole lot like the Festival of Masks back in Kitakami from how ya describe it. Y'all even got candied apple stands! Though... we don't got a Ferris wheel like that..." (Kieran’s heart beats like a heavy drum as he imagines riding it alone with Lilac. For a split second, his eyes lock with hers, before he violently jerks his gaze down to the wooden table, his face turning a deep, burning red.)
Susie: "Eh, you ain't missin' much. Ferris wheels are just for sappy, lovey-dovey couples anyway." (Susie suddenly flashes back to the ride with Noelle in Cyber City. Okay, maybe it wasn't total garbage. Actually, it was kind of nice. She crosses her arms, looking away to hide her own slight blush.) "Though I guess... it's not the worst view."
Lilac: "I actually think Ferris wheels are lovely. When I lived in Galar, my mother took me to the one in Wyndon a few times. Being up there, watching the world from above... it made me feel so peaceful. Like nothing could hurt us."
Susie: "Hey, if ya dig it that much, why don't you guys just crash the festival tomorrow? The more the merrier, right? We could even introduce you to Noelle! What do you think, Kris?"
(Kris tenses up. Having these weird video game dimension-hoppers around is cool and all, but the thought of more humans walking around Hometown hits a little too close to home. The SOUL inside them gives a tiny, invisible tug. Kris just stares at their plate, giving a slow, reluctant nod without making eye contact.)
Lilac: (Noticing Kris's discomfort, her voice drops to a soft, gentle hum) "I suppose it might be a bit too much if we just show up looking like regular humans, though... Oh! What if we wore our Festival Masks? That way, we’d look just like monsters, and Kris wouldn't feel out of place or crowded."
(Kris freezes. They slowly look up, their bangs parting just enough for Lilac to see their eyes. Someone would actually willingly put on a mask and pretend to be a monster... just to make them comfortable? A memory flashes in Kris's mind—the fake red horns they wore for years, trying desperately to fit into a family of monsters, and how much it stung when people pointed out they were different. But looking at Lilac, it feels different. Maybe it’s because they both know what it's like to have your body controlled by a Player. Kris feels a strange, quiet bond forming.)
Kris: "I... guess that works. No one will suspect anything. You'll just look like some weird traveler monsters trying to get free food."
Susie: (Grinning, slapping the table) "Ha! Now that's what I'm talkin' about! You'd make a badass monster, Lilac. Kieran though? Dunno, man, he looks like a generic NPC."
Kieran: (Sputtering, his face going even redder) "H-Hey! I ain't an NPC! I can look scary if I want to! ...Right, Syringa-chan?" (He looks at Lilac pleadingly, praying his voice didn't crack too hard.)
Ralsei: (Walking in, balancing a massive tray) "It really is wonderfully thoughtful of you to consider Kris's feelings, Lilac!" (Ralsei and Carmine enter the room, each holding a steaming teapot with a completely different aura radiating from them.)
Carmine: "Yeah, yeah, sentimentality is great and all, but you better be counting me in on this festival trip! I am NOT staying behind while you guys have all the fun!"
---
Kyuk0n: "Alright, let’s pan the camera over. We’re leaving the cozy tea showdown inside the castle and heading out. Right near that massive, ominous Great Door—the one that used to connect Castle Town to the now-sealed Dark World. Let's see who's lurking in the data shadows."
(The atmosphere near the door is quiet. Juliana stands alone, the glowing screen of her Rotom Phone casting a blue light over her face. Her phone, heavily modified with the crystalline data of the Terastal energy, is split-screening two completely different dimensions.)
(On the left screen: Briar, obsessively analyzing structural glitches in her lab. On the right screen: a tiny, smiling golden flower swaying in a patch of dirt in an underground cavern, completely unaware of the camera. Flowey. Juliana’s brows furrow as she monitors them.)
Juliana: (Muttering, her voice low and poetic) "Two isolated anomalies, operating on separate frequencies of greed... as long as their paths remain parallel, the script of our world holds. They are merely... farming aura in their respective voids. But should the flower meet the scholar, the narrative structure will collapse into unreadable code. I cannot interfere with Lilac’s steps... but I can ensure the perimeter remains secure."
(Suddenly, the sound of a loud, obnoxious television laugh-track blares out of nowhere, followed by the squeak of a toy microphone.)
IT'S TV TIME!
Lacey: (Jumping into the frame, holding her Clefairy microphone high) "WELCOME BACK TO THE GREAT INTERDIMENSIONAL SAVING-FILE BONANZA! I'm your host, Lacey, and today we are coming to you LIVE from the edge of the forgotten door!"
Tenna: (A massive, TV monitor face appears beside her, static crackling like wild laughter) "AND I’M THE MAN WITH THE PLAN, THE SCREEN WITH THE GLEAM, TENNA! THAT'S RIGHT, FOLKS! TODAY WE HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST ON OUR GAME SHOW: THE HOODED CULPRIT HERSELF, JULIANA!"
Juliana: (Sighing deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose as her elegant posture tenses) "You two... Your presence is noise. Return to your rooms."
Lacey: (Giggling, tapping her microphone against Juliana’s Rotom Phone) "Aw, don't be such a spoilsport, Juliana! The audience is literally screaming for answers! In honor of DELTARUNE TOMORROW, everyone wants to see what the ELTZ and Deltarune cast are doing together!"
Tenna: (The screen on his face flashes bright neon, mimicking a quiz show buzzer) DING DING DING! "CORRECT, LACEY! And we’ve got a fan-mail question straight from the ethereal plane of the comments section! Roll the tape!"
(Tenna’s screen glitches, and instead of his face, the exact text of the reader's comment scrolls across the monitor in a retro 8-bit font, complete with loud typewriter sound effects.)
Tenna's Screen: "Plus, I might know why they’re together. Juliana, it seems Indigo doesn’t just pull from Pokemon Violet save files. It’s pulling from other games too!"
Lacey: (Gasping dramatically into her Clefairy mic) "Ooooh! The plot thickens! The Indigo Disk is acting like a giant vacuum cleaner for other software! Is it true, Ms. Mentor?"
Juliana: (Her expression hardens, her eyes narrowing as she looks at the scrolling text) "A clever observation from the observers beyond the screen... The Terastal energy is unstable, when a Player introduces modifications to force multiple endings, the code grows desperate. It pulls from whatever is nearby to fill the gaps. That is why the Fun Gang is here."
Tenna: (Laughing hysterically, his screen changing to a static image of Briar and Flowey side by side with a giant red question mark) "BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Look at the bonus round question on the screen, Juliana! Let's read the final line of the fan-mail!"
Lacey: (Reading from Tenna's face, doing a funny, worried voice) "Also, please tell me Briar didn’t discover this and meet Flowey."
Juliana: (Quickly snapping her Rotom Phone shut with a sharp click, hiding the split-screen) "That is a segment of the broadcast that will never air. Briar knows nothing, and that creature remains contained in its own timeline. I will personally rewrite the script before that meeting can ever disrupt Lilac's reality."
Tenna: (Buzzer sound effects) BZZZZT! "Censorship! Total buzzkill! But hey, that's showbiz for ya!"
Lacey: (Winking at the camera, whispering into the mic) "Don't worry, readers! We'll keep digging! Stay tuned for the next chapter!"
How are the Deltarune cast reacting to all of this? Who told them? (Probably Flowery if anything.)
I believe Terastal Fate and ELTZrune are most likely in separate timelines. So, no game hopping from Flowery.
(Also, we’re just gonna ignore the fact that the Flowers are somehow in Castle Town. It’s for the story.)
If we follow the canon of ELTZ and my usual crossovers with the Deltarune universe, we get a very interesting connection. 🤝
These crossovers are non-canonical (at least the ones I’ve made so far). However, the connection between Pokémon Violet and Deltarune is canon, simply because they are stored on the same Nintendo Switch.
My headcanon—which I will explain in more detail and technical depth later in the fanfic—is that the Protagonists of all video games are aware that other games exist. That's why we have things like Lilac canonically mentioning Undertale and Deltarune in ELTZ. Not only that, but she is also 100% aware of how the rules of those universes work, and she talks about their characters as if they were her casual childhood friends. The same goes for Juliana, for obvious reasons.
Therefore, a canon version of Kris exists out there within ELTZ, and they genuinely know about the events of the fanfic. This applies to every single Protagonist of every video game currently sitting on the Player's Switch.
How is it possible for a Protagonist to know what the Protagonist of a completely different game is experiencing? Simple: through the Switch's save data, alongside the actual memory of the Player. Since it's always the same Player guiding every Protagonist, they carry the experiences of each universe along with them. (Yes, I know it's a bit of a magical concept, but we are in fantasy worlds, so it makes sense! 🦄).
That being said, I’ve always viewed Terastal Fate and my crossovers as two completely different timelines. So, in this crossover, I won't use the Flowery from Terastal Fate, but rather the "canon" Flowery from Deltarune.
Both Terastal Fate and the crossovers are alternative timelines compared to ELTZ.
This means we have three timelines in total. I hope this makes sense, but it’s necessary to maintain some sort of order with what I post here on Tumblr and on AO3.
When it comes to the crossover and who could have told everyone about the events of ELTZ, we actually have three possible candidates: Ralsei, Flowery, and Kris.
According to my headcanon, all three of them possess meta-narrative powers that allow them to know about the adventures of other universes/video games, though on different levels.
Kris experiences them as if they were actually there because their SOUL is controlled by the same Player who controls the Knowing. Therefore, they literally have memories of that universe and know they aren't theirs.
Ralsei experiences them as if he were reading a Prophecy from another world.
Flowery experiences them like [Here I come, San Francisco!]—meaning he talks about these events as if they were happening in some faraway country.
I really love imagining that in these crossovers, Ralsei was the one to introduce the ELTZ cast for the first time just to keep Kris from blurting out the secret of the SOUL. Because of this, we get moments where Susie comments on how Lilac is stuck in a crappy situation with the Player controlling her. She says something like, "Man, glad we don't have those kinds of problems here, right Kris?" right in front of Kris, and they're just standing there like -_- dying inside because they can't explain it yet, while Ralsei reacts all nervously.
There’s also this AU I saw once where Tenna acts as a bridge to Castle Town to "spy" on the Lightners. I think it’s really neat to imagine him broadcasting the adventures of other video games, including Lilac's. He would commentate on the adventure as if it were a TV show, so everyone reacts to the events of ELTZ like they're watching a new episode, except they are actually friends with the characters inside the "program."
I can picture Kris reacting with pleasant surprise and deep satisfaction when Lilac beats up the Knowing.
Kris: "Next goal is putting it in a cage."
But then they get nervous when they see how Lilac cooperates with the Player, dying ten times while trying to break the rules of the game. It reminds them too much of the Weird Route, and it makes them worried.
Susie sees Arthur, gets reminded of Gerson, and tries hard not to show her sentimental side.
Susie: "I'm not crying, dumbass! YOU'RE crying!"
And then there's Ralsei, who simply prays that everything goes well when Lilac and the rest of the group reach Terapagos.
Ralsei: "They are the heroes of that world, so they cannot lose. But then... why am I so afraid...?"
Flowery would pop out of nowhere every now and then, commentating on the scenes with his usual sarcasm and enthusiasm alongside Tenna's broadcast.
Flowery: [Hey guys]
Tenna: "It’s TV TIME!"
They are literally like the commentators at a sports game.
As for the flowers in Castle Town... I have no idea how they would even get there (and honestly, I prefer it that way, because I think their story works better if it's a true goodbye to the Fun Gang, kind of like Asriel at the end of Undertale who doesn't go to the surface with the rest of the monsters). But for the sake of these crossovers, we’ll just pretend that they can somehow visit Castle Town, even if not for very long.
Here are a few short reaction scenes I imagined:
(During the Garchomp scene)
Lilac (from Tenna's screen): "Have a chat with a wild dragon? Listen here, old man. This is a Pokémon game. Humans don't just stand in front of wild monsters and use the ACT command to spare them! This isn't Undertale or Deltarune, okay? We don't do pacifist bullet-hell negotiations here! If I walk out there without a Poké Ball, I am the one getting spared... from living!”
(Susie laughs hysterically, clapping a hand to her forehead.)
Susie: “She’s totally talking about us, huh? In the end, she actually had fun with the ACTs. I hope she uses what I taught her.”
Flowery: [Take that] “Looks like Lilac is having a really bad time with that Garchomp, but… wait! Her ACT just changed to [Lilac’s Idea] and it worked!! Garchomp's Mercy bar is completely full.” [ All according to — All according to plant ]
Susie: “Guess I’m just great at my job.”
Kris: “I was the teacher.”
Susie: “Possessive much? Kris, don't tell me your type is—”
Kris: “NO.” (Kris snaps their head away, trying to hide the fact that they are blushing.)
(When Lilac is challenged by Juliana)
Tenna: “Ohhh, looks like our two heroines are about to spark a legendary clash! Who will win? The lavender princess or the magenta-hooded challenger? If you want to find out, you already know what not to do. Don’t touch that dial!" (Tenna nervously tries to redirect the group's attention back to the upcoming Pokémon battle.)
Susie: “A battle at full potential between two Protagonists? Finally, something actually interesting! Tenna, turn up the volume, and you idiots shut up, mass is about to start.” (Susie settles enthusiastically onto a couch they had just set up in the castle for the event.)
(The general atmosphere in Castle Town grows tense; the end of their world's Prophecy is drawing near, just like the end for their friends in the neighboring universe.)
So, remember my total breakdown over which ice cream flavor to choose for our Hooded Figure bet? 🍨 Well, I decided to turn my executive dysfunction into a game, so let’s play!
(Also, a very special shoutout to @adelinesariana—this one is especially for you!)
Pick your favorite flavor from the art! Each one is linked to a tiny teaser image about the next chapter’s lore.
