historical socio is the best thing! the tools! they are both useful for looking at each other! tbh, I'm a 7th year syntactician and I hate my life, so everything else looks like the one that got away. But I still go to socio talks for fun, while everything else just makes me want to die.

Oh goodness I couldn’t do syntax, I admire you. But yes I’m REALLY EXCITED about the idea of doing historical socio bc it’s just SO COOL to me to be able to do both of the things that talk about language change and language variation.

ugggh I didn’t know this happened in Percy Jackson but I’m not surprised bc I’ve heard that the author is a huge jerk to modern reconstructionist polytheists. >: I’d like to know how he would deal with gods like Janus who didn’t exist in Greek tradition.

That is a super great illustration of the point. I was also talking with @necromancermoons about the fact that Mars has a very strong agricultural aspect, whereas, apparently, Ares doesn’t? So that’s interesting too.
