question 7 for Heart Like Neon!!

Hi there! :D 7: Where did the title come from? Oh gosh, this is going to be so very boring, I'm sorry. It came from my brain. ;P There are definitely times when I've used lyrics or a poem or a line from the story itself, but this was just one of those things. I was between this or 'Neon Heart', and I decided I liked it this way better. I'm not exactly sure what I was going for originally or what I was thinking. I can only speculate that it was a little bit about how Harry can read his clients and that Draco must light up like a neon sign for Harry, being that there's all this history, this immense chemistry, this absolute fire that he feels around Harry. And that Harry would be able to read his desires off of him that easily... that made me happy. I think I may also have liked the connotations of neon being like... red light district-y? That sort of old-fashioned image of a sex worker beneath a flashing neon sign for discount cigarettes at a liquor store on some downtown city street. It's a stereotype, for sure, and one I didn't want to use in this fic at all, but I still think the very idea of neon sort of speaks to that idea maybe? Alright, that's less boring than I feared! :D Thank you so much for the Ask! I'm really fond of that story. <3

Black, bleak as my heart 💀 hehe jk, I think lilac/purple is actually a good match for my personality, and it happens to be my favorite color!

location, location and marathon for the ask game!

location, location: what are your top three (or,) least three favourite places to write and why?

top three places to write:

my bed. i do have something of a love/hate relationship with working on my bed. on one hand, it's really comfortable and i work pretty fast. on the other, it makes me so sleepy.

coffee shops. i'm a cliche, but white noise is my favourite thing in the world and i absolutely adore the feeling of being alone in a crowd.

airports/bus stations/the metro. there's just something about the liminality, transience and urgency of these places that forces me to get the words out fast. i'm huge on editing, but it doesn't belong in the creation of first drafts.

marathon: three things you have to have during a writing session.

hmm.

headphones. i can't listen to music when i'm actually writing, but i do need a barrier between myself and the outside world or else loud sounds/voices distract me too much.

internet access. if a question comes up while writing, i need it answered immediately or it'll bug me too much to concentrate.

some kind of timer. something needs to give me a deadline or i'll just daydream. i love sprinting channels on discord servers, alarms, the forest app, anything that reminds me to work instead of stare.

Tough choice! If we’re talking about a thought-provoking movie, I’d say Spirited Away. But Iron Man I and Lord of the Rings are the ones that I rewatch the most. And aesthetically, Call Me By Your Name is definitely a fave! What about you?
