“You--” He’s gesturing to the brunet, wearing a frown and ignoring the sword at his hip who just won’t shut up. “--I saw you react. Were you able to hear this sword just now when you walked past?”

@celestialfriend [con’t]:
“Did he? It’s something my friends taught me a long time ago. If he believed that, then I’m sure he was an amazing person.”
There’s a pang that runs through his chest when he sees Sorey’s eyes fall. Images blurred by malevolence skirt his mind. The throne- Heldalf- and Sorey’s face twisted in pain. The ache of loss is palpable, and one that he knows all too well.
“But you know, you’re like that too, Sorey.”
“Zenrus...” Laphicet ponders that. There is a faintly familiar ring to it, but nothing concrete comes to mind. “I’m sorry, I don’t think we’ve ever met. I do think I’ve heard his name before, but I can’t remember where. I was sealed here, but my memory of it is kind of hazy... probably because of all the malevolence.”
hugs. good to see you, my friend!
All the love and hugs back !!!
It’s good to see you too (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡

“Sorry about that, but I wasn’t exactly planning on getting thrown through a wall.”

“Now that you have seen it for yourself, what do you think of this world?” Maotelus perched quietly next to the former Shepherd, looking out from their vantage point down over great plains and a large city in the distance. A city that hadn’t existed in Sorey’s time. “Are you satisfied with the outcome?”
❝ despite everything, i believe that people are really good at heart. ❞ (hello!)
“You’ve got to be joking,” The words, though cold, were spoken with just a hint of mockery as he looked the Shepherd over. How naive of him. Not everyone should be trusted. People were good at heart? -- then what about him? Was he really so good, being so cruel, so selfish in the pursuit of his goal? He only wanted his sister back, and he would do it all over again, but that didn’t excuse all that he had done. “you can’t be that stupid.”
Had he not heard stories about him?
Mithos waves a hand dismissively. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want to heard this utter bullshit. He didn’t want people like himself to be pitied. He despised that -- at least the way Sorey was going about it. Half-elves were victims, but he himself had no regret in his decisions. No, no, not at all.
“You must be pretty sheltered...
you know so little of the world;
it’s cruel. People aren’t ‘good’.”
Perhaps if Sorey could walk a mile in his shoes, he would begin to understand. He had this view, because he had been fortunate enough to. He didn’t have that luxury. People were-- humans were-- monsters.
“So spare me the speech.”

“Everyone has a choice! What if you could change?” This person puzzled him more than any other. He frowned deeply in response to their excuse. Being raised among the seraphim was all he’d ever known. Yet he could’ve changed his mind when getting to know the human or explored his boundaries more if given the option. He’d had a choice, but it was his calling.
“What’s holding you back? You were raised that way. You had no choice in the matter.”
""Everyone has a choice?" But then you say "You had no choice in the matter" make up your mind." Had he really had a choice? Sync didn't want to think on it. Van was using him. It was better he understood that and did as he was told then not understand... and be just like Luke. "It doesn't matter what I have chosen. I'm a tool." So long as he got his revenge, it didn't matter what he had to do in order to get it.
“How about I kill a few more people to prove it to you, Mister righteous Hero?” It didn't matter. If he ran off, Van would find him again. What had happened in the core was evidence that there was no escaping that fate.
“ even on your bad days, be kind. ”
They were words easily spoken, a simple concept that any might aspire to. Richard found the words turning in his stomach like sour milk, the idea held upon a rope he never stood a chance of reaching.
Kindness...
He had tried being kind, had tried to open his heart to the people around him and what had that earned him in the end? Their scorn, being labelled as weak and unfit to be a leader. They mocked his dreams and tossed them out into the mud that gathered beneath Pendrago’s unnatural rain.
Kindness was a double edged blade upon which Richard had cut himself one too many times.
“That you can say something like that so easily...” Richard almost couldn’t bear to look at the one who spoke it, the Shepherd who had come to Rolance’s capital. He shone too brightly, stood there radiating the manner of kindness Richard had given up upon ages ago.
“It tells me you have not been here long.”
