Can ya write some bitten werewolf!lance?
Well, I can certainly try!
Lance scratched at his arm, the wound itching beneath its bandages and the sleeve of his hooded sweatshirt. It was probably infected. Had to be. After all, he’d been bitten weeks ago while taking out the trash at work. He hadn’t even seen the dog coming or heard it growl or anything. He just remembered the wind being knocked out of him as he fell - was pushed - face first into the pavement of the alley behind the restaurant.
Thankfully, his nose wasn’t broken. Just a little bloody. In fact, he’d managed to get out with only the bite on his arm. A pretty nasty-looking one, but nothing that needed stitches, he figured. Which was good. Because part-time server positions didn’t exactly boast insurance, especially when the boss was paying you under the table.
But he had money in his pocket and food in his belly after yet another successful shift. This one involving significantly less encounters of the furry and vicious kind.
Could he have rabies? What were the symptoms in humans? Did it cause the bite to itch and burn uncontrollably even weeks later? He’d been keeping it clean, tending to it. Heck, it had even started to look better. So, why?
Just above, the heavy cloud cover cleared, illuminating the dark street. He glanced up. It was a full moon.
Normally, he enjoyed charting the phases and stargazing in general. But for some reason, the sight of the nearly perfectly round pearl orb in the sky only caused him pain.
He hissed and gripped his arm. It felt like it was on fire. And, on top of that, his head had started to pound. It throbbed in time with his heartbeat, which was rapidly accelerating.
Lance fell to his knees, regretting not listening to his roommate when he’d told him to visit one of the late night clinics after he’d come home bloody. Goodness knew what he’d contracted.
Still, just as the pain became excruciating, footsteps echoed through his head and a voice, soft and velvety, stood out, practically caressing his ears.
“So, there you are,” a man said, the tenor of his speech soothing. For the moment, at least. “I’m glad I found you before your first shift.”
And then, Lance couldn’t hear a thing. Everything had gone white as his entire body was swallowed in blinding heat.
Wow, yeah, um, maybe? (I’ve mostly written vampires, so please excuse my newbie attempt at werewolves) I do hope you liked it, though!
Special shout out to Jes for helping me decide at what point to write bitten Lance~♥
